Five Richwood girls aged fifteen were ruled delinquent in Union County Juvenile Court. Judge E W Porter appointed Marshal Sloop as probation officer to enforce curfew and moral conduct. Separate warrants for Richwood youths were issued for contributing to delinquency of Dora Mullen and improper conduct, with hearings detailed in Marysville Daily Tribune.
ert Aller and Zell Blue of Richwood arraigned in probate court on charges of contributing to the delinquency of 15 year old Dora Mullen ward of Dr. Thomas F. Wurtsbaugh. They plead not guilty and are bond $200 each for appearance before Judge Porter next Friday at 9 am. Hoopes Robinson Hoopes represent the defendants. Prosecution by John H. Willis and A. B. Simons. Trial of Clarice Moffett of Richwood, charged with a similar offense, will also be heard Friday.
C. T. Porter fractured his right arm just above the wrist Sunday morning while cranking his automobile. He and his family were preparing for a trip to Kenton when the accident occurred. Doctors Duke reduced the fracture and Porter, though shaken, was able to be out Monday but will not resume full business soon.
Dr C L Thompson of York has been seriously ill recently and is under nurse Miss Alice Pierce of Marysville. Reports in Richwood claimed blood poison, but reliable word says otherwise. He is much improved and expected to tend patients soon.
A village editor urges officials and citizens to purge vice echoing a statewide drive. Mayor David M. Green vows a thorough cleaning in Urbana while Richwood faces investigations into alleged immorality amid religious revivals and parental duty. Miss Cora Martin and Howard Croft exit Richwood commerce for Lisbon, Ohio.
The Commercial Club of Richwood held its first regular meeting in their club rooms. They discussed boosting Richwood and supporting Y M C A work with plans for the future. An adjourned meeting is set for Friday inviting members and prospects. Memorial exercises by local lodges followed a funeral style program with addresses and decorated graves.
Mr and Mrs Archer Olive spent several days in Delaware to attend the commencement exercises at O W U. They were seen visiting local sites and meeting with university officials during their stay.
The Delaware Gazette reports a chapel ceremony marking the golden graduation anniversary of the O W U class of 1863. Six alumni returned for the event, C W Diehl of Cleveland J D Jones M D Cleveland Henry O Kale Thos E Powell Columbus T R Smith Delaware and Mrs Morris W Hill Richwood, as Professor R T Stevenson called their names amid war day stirring times and universal peace works.
Stanley Peet spent several days in Delaware visiting friends and attending the commencement exercises of the O. W. U. This report notes his travel and participation in campus ceremonies.
Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Sweet of Denver Colorado and Col. C. W. Fisher of Bucyrus were guests for several days early this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Schambs and family on South Franklin Street.
The Embroidery Club and families gathered at Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Kagay's north Clinton street home last Friday for a lawn picnic honoring Otto T. Boggs and wife as they prepare to move to Dayton where he becomes advertising manager for a major manufacturer. Mrs. A. R. Klipstine gave Mrs. Boggs a cut glass nappie. Out of town guest Mrs. Olus Conkright and son William from Columbus attended.
Relatives and friends from Richwood and distant towns attended the funeral service for the late Graham Tanner. Don Bumgartner dies at his parents home near Richwood after tuberculosis illness. He had worked in Marion shops and fell ill after an Easter flood cold. Survived by parents and several siblings. Funeral at Richwood M E church Friday at 1:30 with Rev. A H Weaver. interment Price's cemetery west of Essex. Epworth League feeds chicken dinner 25 cents next Wednesday in church basement.
Mrs. Eunice Grover Robison, 38, died early Tuesday in Columbus after a period of ill health due to liver trouble. Formerly Miss Eunice Grover of Sugar Ridge, she helped flood victims during Easter week and is survived by her husband, W. R. Robison, and relatives in Richwood. Funeral services will be held in Sugar Ridge.
Richwood Lodge No 443 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows plans a memorial service at Claiborne cemetery on Sunday afternoon June 15 with Rev G Linn Ferguson assisting. The next evening the lodge will meet at First Christian church for a memorial address by Rev Ferguson, with church choir providing special music. public invited.
Walter Wacker of Springfield and C R Wiant of Urbana are jailed in Marysville on rape charges for an alleged April 25 incident near Richwood involving Dora Mullen 15 and Clarice Moffett 22. Wacker and Wiant plead not guilty. trial set for Friday in Marysville probate court.
Mrs J F Rapp is in Columbus attending the commencement exercises of the O S A with her brother Walter Lake a member of the graduating class.
