Ten bids were received for five bridge projects and road work. Awards include Bates bridge near Irwin to Rollin Still for 1659.88 with steel substructure to follow on June 10, Nacol bridge near Darby to W F Luh for 1825, and Amerine mill road closure at neighbors’ request. Work to widen Lane road between Rush Creek and West Jackson school starts Thursday under County Engineer Alvi Graham.

Paralysis Claims Mrs. Mary Massie Dies at 92
Mrs. Mary L. Massie aged 92 died after a monthlong paralysis in Marysville on June 3. Born May 6, 1839 in Marietta to Frank and Mary Davis Miller, she married James Massie in 1875 at Ironton. She belonged to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilgus. Surviving children: Millie Massie of Springfield, Frank Davidson of Ironton, and Mrs. I N Darling of Marysville. Funeral at Wilgus Mt. Pleasant Church Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Saunders officiated. Interment Grassy Ridge cemetery.

Frank A. Glick 54, president of Glick Furniture Co. of Columbus, died at his home after a brief illness from heart disease. Born December 4, 1877 in Fort Recovery, he moved to Columbus 24 years ago to open a shop and led the Ohio Valley Retail Furniture Dealers Association. Funeral services were held Sunday at Bryden Road Temple. burial at Green Lawn Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Julia York Glick, two sons Robert A. and William L. Glick, a brother Isa dore A. Glick of Columbus, and two sisters in Philadelphia.
