Insect trap program to curb Japan beetle in Ohio towns
Ohio Agriculture Director John M. Stackhouse announced metal insect traps will be placed in Richwood and Magnetic Springs to monitor the Japanese beetle. Traps, sunlit and 15 feet from plants, will run about six weeks with residents’ cooperation. Local officials and USDA divisions run the program. inspectors will carry ID. The beetle appears in mid June, peaks July to August, damages blossoms fruit and foliage, and overwinters as grubs in soil.

ASC Urges Area Farmers Check Corn Prices
ASC chairman Paul Carpenter urges area corn producers to monitor prices at local stations to determine if market advances make it favorable to redeem price support loans and sell on the market. Gas Rate Increase Effective June 14th
