Richwood High Alumni Banquet Draws Large Crowd

The 39th Richwood High School Alumni Association banquet on Friday May 27 1955 drew about 300 attendees at the high school auditorium. The event featured decorated tables and a seven o clock dinner by Claiborne Grange with Madonna Speyer chairing, followed by a business meeting and entertainment from the Triple Trio and local performers.

Richard Fish Wins F F A Mechanics Award

Richard Fish, a 1955 Northwestern High School graduate and Raymond F. F. A. member, won the State FFA Farm Mechanics Award. He receives $100 at the State FFA banquet at Ohio State University on June 2 for work in farm mechanics and has built a home shop, trailer, wagon, and gates. He plans welding school to repair equipment and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Fish of Route 1 Peoria.

Church Ceremony Unites Couple in Ohio May 29

Juanita Payne Streeter daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Payne of Richwood Ohio married Robert Vance son of Mr and Mrs John T Vance of Columbus Ohio in the First Baptist Church on May 29 at 2 30 p m Rev Taylor Roth read the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a pink lace ballerina length dress with a roll away collar and three quarter sleeves and carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Her attendant Marilyn Payne wore a blue and gold nylon dress and carried pink and white carnations. Best man was Richard Leppert of Dublin with ushers Carl Payne Don Smith and Al Irby. A reception followed at the church and the couple will reside at 72 West Como Avenue Columbus.

Terry Rockhold Honored on His 8th Birthday

About 24 guests gathered last Saturday at Mrs. C. B. Rockhold's South Franklin Street home to celebrate Terry Rockhold's 8th birthday. Mrs. Rockhold was helped by her daughter Karen and Sharon Adams. Children played games then enjoyed refreshments and a birthday cake with candles, and each guest received favors along with gifts for Terry from classmates and friends.

Jackson Grange Holds Regular Meeting May 25

Jackson Grange met in regular form with W M John McNamee and eight officers presiding. One membership application was read. Martha McNamee invited youth to June 1 to organize a degree team. Richwood Garden Club Flower Show at Legion Home

Richwood celebrates a June 14 flower show at the American Legion Hall. Exhibitors may enter up to one item per class and must display specimens grown by themselves. Classes include artistic arrangements, hybrid tea and floribunda roses, perennials, and house plants with specific bloom and size rules.

The York Township Farm Women’s Progressive Club met May 19 with hostess Mrs. Gladys Cahill at the Wiley Home. President Dorothy Wiley opened the gathering as Ocie Storms led devotions from 2nd Chronicles and prayer. Twenty seven members answered roll call and heard plans for a June bus trip. Henrietta Jacobs spoke on Mother's Day origin and Mary Louise Hook read a Mother's Day poem. Memorial Day Observed by Local Organizations

About 500 people observed Memorial Day with a parade and services at Claibourne and York cemeteries. The high school band led by Robert Reinhard marched from the school to the Legion Home, then to the parade route. Clarence Connolly presided, Rev. Leonard Mann gave opening prayers, Gale Baldwin delivered the address, wreaths were laid, and Taps performed.
