A Saturday storm caused heavy wind and hail damage across Union County. Milford Center area suffered the worst, with shredded corn and oats, down silos, and uprooted trees. Near Magnetic Springs corn was flattened and wheat scattered. Marysville saw minor damage to homes, Mechanicburg area faced thousands in losses to oats wheat, and fields were leveled, leaving most harvests unfit. Delaware County saw little impact while Knox County's line fared moderately.

Woman Injured by Lightning in North Lewisburg Porch
Mrs. Beatty Chappell of North Lewisburg, niece of Mrs. E I Fissell of Richwood, was struck by lightning Saturday afternoon while on her front porch. Shoes and stockings torn from her feet, right leg badly burned from the hip down, paint scorched, mosquito bar burned, two trees near the house struck. She is expected to recover if no complications arise.

Mrs. Croggan Bailey Fatally Burned in Urbana Accident
Mrs. Croggan Bailey aged 60 died after her apron caught fire from a burning brush heap in Urbana last Wednesday. Her clothing burned from her body and she lived only a short time. The Baileys were former Richwood residents.

George W Burgoon Dies After Stroke At Home
George W. Burgoon aged 62 died Thursday morning at his home five miles east of Richwood after a stroke of paralysis. Born September 13 1863 he was son of the late Da vid and Mrs Burgoon. Survived by wife Emma Dilsaver. Funeral services were held Sunday at Bethlehem with Rev. W S Mowery officiating. Burial at Claiborne cemetery under Lloyd Winter care.
