Farm Program Boosts Union County Economy in 1964

Union County ASC figures show farm programs added 787202 dollars to county income in 1964, with 58506 dollars in cost-shares on 85 farms for conservation. Feed grain, wheat, and wool incentives supported 2043 feed farmers, 1663 wheat allotments, 600 sheep farmers, and boosted local merchants as the economy expanded.

Mrs Jessie Glick Dies At Residence

Mrs. Jessie Mae Glick 85 of Ostrander died Friday at her home after years of ill health. Born Aug 3 1879 in Morgan County she married William S Glick on Dec 20 1900 he died in 1939. Survived by three sons Emerson Adrian and Raymond two daughters Ruth Hines and Louise B Glick four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Glick residence with burial at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs Durnell Presents Annual Clborne Richwood Musical

A large crowd attended the Clarbome Richwood Elementary annual music program on Tuesday December 22 featuring vocal selections by fifth through eighth graders. The fifth and sixth grades presented a short operetta The Choir Boy Who Couldnt Sing with Lou Ann Bickley at the piano. Mrs Opal Darnell directed the program with Miss Patricia Hopkins guiding the eighth grade chorus. Piano solos by Cort Cheney Rex Cramer Diane Davis Debbie Erwin and a piano duet by Sally and Ann Holcomb complemented the evening.

Services Held Today For Frank Newman

Frank Newman, a retired farmer from Rt. 1 Peoria, died Monday after a month long illness. Born November 19, 1884 in Kenton, he married Florence Hamilton in 1903. she preceded him in death in 1947. Survived by three sons Arthur Hamilton Paul of Richwood and daughter Alice Disbennett of Broadway, along with ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral at Winter Funeral Home with Rev. Central WSCS Prepares 33 Christmas Baskets

Sister of local man dies in Coshocton crash

Mrs. Katherine Schott, 52, of Marysville, was killed Monday when her car rear collided with a truck on Route 16 in Coshocton as the truck pulled onto the berm to aid another stalled driver. Her body was moved from Dawson Funeral Home Coshocton to Fischer Funeral Home Warsaw. arrangements ongoing at press time.

North Union Board Meets as Auditor Reviews District Records

The North Union Board of Education held its December 21 meeting. H L Swick reviewed school accounting with suggested changes and record keeping improvements. Ohio Fuel Gas Co was granted additional land lease near Richwood Memorial Field for equipment housing. Principal Donald Parsons was approved to attend a Columbus convention February 4 6. Classes will dismiss early on December 23. The board will reconvene January 4 at 8 PM to organize for 1965.

Nelson Blue Attends Appraiser School in Columbus

G. Nelson Blue of Richwood is enrolled in a five week real estate appraisal course in Columbus. Sponsored by the Ohio Chapter of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, the program covers appraisal principles methods and techniques. The Appraisal Institute upholds strict certification standards and professional conduct. Since 1930 fewer than 3,700 appraisers have qualified for membership.
