Richwood Corp Faces Highest Union Co Tax Rate in 1971
Richwood Corporation holds the highest real estate tax rate in Union County for 1971 at 47.50 mills per thousand, up 3.00 from 1970. The rate funds schools, county and health levies, and village operations, with only seven of 38 districts raising taxes. Delinquent risks and rising valuations threaten higher bills, while 1953 to 1971 increases show schools absorb most of the costs. Christmas guests included Bernard Rubek and Bill Headington of Byhalia at Ira Gwynn’s home.
