Future of Combine In Ohio Is Bright
Ohio State University expert says combines cut grain costs 60 percent or more in the humid Ohio climate. Harvest moisture must stay under 16 percent and grain should be cut within ten days of readiness. Drying may not be needed. straw can be baled or stored. Breeding work seeks stiff straw and high yields for wheat, oats, and barley. Losses from straw handling are negligible versus binder-thresher methods.

U S Appetite For Pork Justified In U S Diet
Americans eat more pork than any other people and USDA studies show strong justification. Despite 6 percent of world population, the U S houses about 20 percent of the world’s swine and slaughtered 42.5 million in 1926, up over two million from the prior year. Pork’s nutritive value and calories per pound support its role in both labor and sedentary diets, aiding growth and vitamin B intake while lowering pork costs.
