Say M Everhart printer residing at 563 North Eighth Street Upper Sandusky died Monday December 19 at 10 45 am after years of poor health and a brief unconscious spell He was foreman at the Gazette office and married Pearl Jones He leaves a son Funeral services are set for Thursday at 1 30 pm at the Upper Sandusky home with burial in the local cemetery.

High School Christmas program and sports news update
A large crowd enjoyed the high school Christmas entertainment at the Baptist church with generous donations. The first home basketball game is set for next Friday against Darby. Sickness hit the school hard last week and holiday break begins Friday, January 3 after exams. Union county delegates to the National Education Association meeting in Columbus were named. The Larcher Duo performed as part of the Senior sponsored entertainment series at the Presbyterian church, praised as the best so far this year. The Sixth Grade hygiene posters were displayed with Adelyne Glassmeyer’s entry judged best.

Orlie McMillen aged 53 from east of Ostrander died after a bull gore in a barn near his home. His wife searched with a lantern and found him lifeless in a manger where the bull had cornered him.

Mearl Crowder of Champaign county 4-H Steer Club sold his grand champion steer for 928.80 or 86 cents a pound at the Buffalo Junior Fat Cattle Show. The event drew 285 Ohio attendees from Champaign Logan and Clark counties. Total weight sold 358,930 pounds, sales 27,849.41, average 1011 pounds and 7.87 cents per pound, higher than the Chicago price of 6.38 cents.
