Columbus philanthropist Joseph Schonthal 75 died Sunday at Grant hospital after hernia surgery. He built an iron firm in Columbus, funded charities, and supported the Schonthal camp near Magnetic Springs for Jewish youths. Funeral services were held at Temple Israel with burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
