Snowmobile Accident Dampens Town Holiday Cheer

In the season start snow storm a rider named Denny McMahan rolled his snowmobile last weekend causing a minor wound and several stitches. Citizens are urged to use sidewalks during Sunday Candle Walk and Carol Sing as Santa visits the village December 16 to 23. North Union School Board meeting moved to 6 p.m. Monday December 18 to avoid conflicts with the junior high program.

Richwood leaders want 4 wheel drive and snowmobile owners to volunteer for emergency services. Chief Marvin along with Emergency Chief Davis and Fire Chief Reece seek contact details to build a ready list, recalling last winter’s blizzards that blocked roads and delayed aid.

Community Candle Walk Marks Christmas Spirit This Sunday

Richwood churches invite area residents to light candles and join a tree lighting at the corner of S Franklin and E Ottawa Streets. Bells ring at 6 p.m. Dec 17 followed by a carol sing and sidewalk observance. Additional events include Santa visits Dec 16 and a Living Nativity Dec 22–23 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Vandals Strike Richwood Area Despite Cold Weather

Cold temperatures failed to deter vandals who hit the Richwood area last weekend. Four incidents were reported to police on Saturday, likely late Friday night or early Saturday morning. Three involved vehicles, with police using a vehicle fragment in the investigation. Damages were reported at Nelson Blue property, Lucille Lee residence, Ballinger Funeral Home, and Westbrook Publishing Co. windows and walls.

Snow-Trackers Invite Public to Sunday Meeting

Buckeye Central Sno-Trackers host an open meeting Sunday December 17 at 2 p m for area residents interested in snowmobiling. Roger Steinfurth Ohio Snowmobile Association president will speak and show films on trails in the area. Bequest of 25000 To Richwood First United Methodist

Marie C. Roebuck's estate funds are transferred to Richwood First United Methodist Church. Local attorney Lloyd George Kerns, acting for the estate, completed the gift with 25,000 dollars transferred to the church board. Church members present included Kenneth Evans and Pauline and Allen Roberts from Waldo.
