Claiborne Girl to wed Coshocton man in church ceremony

Miss Mary Warner will marry Clement McCafferty in an informal Coshocton church ceremony. Reverend E K Barss will perform it assisted by Mr and Mrs Arthur Warner. Miss Warner, daughter of E M Warner, is a Broadway high school graduate class of 1935. The couple will set up housekeeping at the Lewis Lake farm near Claiborne.

Death of Norma Jane Steed at 14 After Long Illness

Norma Jane Steed 14 died Saturday at 3 30 PM in Jane Case hospital Delaware after a long illness of tuberculosis and peritonitis. She was daughter of E A Steed and Daisy Martin Steed of Ashley three miles west. Surviving: parents and one sister. Family formerly of Richwood. Funeral Tuesday at Sanders funeral home with Rev B F McKinnon officiating. Burial in Shoup cemetery by S R Sanders.

Married Fifty Years Golden Wedding Dinner

A family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Tanner on Pearl Street celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on December 5. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. George C. Tanner and children of Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Monroe and daughters Alice Audrey Sadie, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Monroe and son Billy, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Monroe of Richwood. The couple received many beautiful gifts.

The L A S class of the M P Sunday school met at Rose Cramer's home last Wednesday evening with teacher Mrs Ethel Thomas. Starling Dixon led, Edith Jerew read the scripture, Helen Bowers noted roll call and reports, and the group sang carols. Esther Storey attended as a guest.

Surprise birthday party for Miss Friedy Russell

A group of Miss Friedy Russell's girl friends surprised her Monday evening at Miss Virginia Snowden's home northwest of Richwood. They celebrated her birthday with games, music, and a taffy pulling. Mrs Snowden served luncheon and Miss Russell received several gifts.

Charles W. Taylor Dies After Cerebral Hemorrhage

Charles W. Taylor age 66 of Pharisburg died Saturday afternoon after a cerebral hemorrhage in Marysville. He had lived in the area most of his life with 16 years in Columbus. Eastern Stars Install Officers at Mt. Carmel Chapter

The Richwood Tri-County Agricultural Society held its annual election on Saturday December 7 at the Villa hotel from 1 to 3 pm electing four directors for three years Carl Allgower Walter Hartman R P Perry and C C Mann The fair board reorganized December 10 naming Carl Allgower president Walter Hartman vice president O E Stout secretary and D E Davis treasurer for 1936 Dates for the 1986 fair are August 11 12 13 and 14.

Death summons Mrs Shark in Magnetic Springs

Mrs. Callie Lucy Shark 49 of Magnetic Springs died December 4 at Jane Case hospital Delaware after a six week illness. She was born March 30 1886 in Magnetic Springs and is survived by husband Howard E Shark and eight children along with several siblings and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the family home and Otterbein church with burial in Otterbein cemetery conducted by Rev. Kimball.

Grigsby Wins Silver in Prince of Peace Declamation

Joe Grigsby of Marysville captured the silver medal in the Prince of Peace Declamation at Richwood M E Church on Sunday night.
