Sarah E. Cook 61 of Magnetic Springs died Friday in Mercy Hospital Columbus from injuries in a Thursday auto crash on Rt. 347 east of Pharisburg. She was secretary of Cook Realty Co. and assistant postmistress at Magnetic Springs, survived by husband Loren Cook and two sons. Burial was at Oakdale Cemetery.

Don Fields of Route 2 returned from a four day deer hunting trip to Wowinckel Pennsylvania with a young buck caught within 45 minutes of the first day. The other three in the party did not bag any game while Fields expressed modest pride in his catch. The deer will provide venison for the Fields household in the months ahead.

Two Richwood area residents escaped serious injuries when their car overturned after losing control on Ohio 739 near Ohio 37. John Smith, 41, and Lillian Smith, 44, were treated for bruises at a physician's office after the vehicle struck a guard rail and overturned around 2 p.m.

Christmas Spirit Brightens Richwood Shops and Holiday Plans
Richwood stores glow with festive interiors and street decorations as evergreen garlands and lighted bells brighten the town. A December 15 Christmas Party for children under 13 is set at the American Legion Hall with movies and a Santa visit. Shops will stay open nightly from December 11 through Christmas, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and local merchants. Santa will tour streets from Friday night onward, with headquarters at the old post office building.
