Santa Claus Arrives in Richwood Saturday Parade

Santa Claus will arrive in Richwood at 2 p m on Saturday December 9 meeting the Richwood High School band at the Opera House. He will lead a street parade and concert through the business district with merchants inviting all to shop early for Christmas gifts. Santa plans to return Saturdays until Christmas and may visit Thursday Friday and Saturday afternoons if schedules permit.

Entertain Guests at Luncheon Tuesday

Mrs. Hattie Taylor and Mrs. Ada Fawley hosted a luncheon Tuesday noon at the Taylor home. Officers Elected by Woman's Relief Corps

The W. R. C. held a Tuesday afternoon meeting at their hall with President Mrs. Elizabeth Glassmeyer presiding. Twenty two officers and members were present and elected were Elizabeth Glassmeyer as president, Mary Lilley as senior vice president, Clara Moehn as junior vice president, Myrtle Waterman as treasurer, Mary Clark as chaplain, Alice Rose as guard, Lettie Adams as conductor. An all day meeting and pot luck with a Christmas exchange are planned for next Tuesday at Mrs. Lillian Cahill's home.

The Aid Society of the First Methodist church will hold an all day session and pot luck dinner on Wednesday December 13 at the home of Mrs. Jo E Howe on east Ottawa street. All members are invited and please bring your own table service. Missionary Society Meets at Hatcher Home

The Central Methodist Missionary Society gathered last Friday at the home of Mrs. Nellie Hatcher northwest of Richwood with assistants Mrs. Ada Fawley and Miss Virginia Snowden. Mrs. Millie Webb presided. devotions led by Mrs. W. S. Mowrey and readings on Christmas in the Missionary fields were given by Emma Manley Deborah Hill Flora Davis and Ellen Kinney.

Local Church Finds New Home in Richwood

The Richwood Church of Christ bought the Presbyterian church building and its pipe organ after noon Tuesday. Repairs and redecorating will precede occupancy, with a dedicatory service planned. Rev. Foster G. Sizemore and his wife are credited with securing the move and guiding the congregation toward growth.

Directors and Officers Selected by Richwood Fair Board

A Richwood fair stockholders meeting chose three year directors J. S. Matteson J. W. Cunningham R. RB Dildine E. E. Drumm and Roy H Hoffman. Walter Farrington was elected for two years. Officers named are President J. S. Matteson Vice President C. H. McWilliams Secretary F. F. Riley Treasurer D. K. Davis. The fair is scheduled for August 6 to 9.

The Flower Garden Club of Prospect was entertained at the home of Mrs. J. P. Lawrence on Wednesday evening. Fourteen members and seven guests attended. A well received program was given by club members and Thanksgiving refreshments were served.

Stock Buyer Dies Suddenly in Richwood

Edward E. Ledley, 63, a prominent Richwood stock buyer, died suddenly at 4:30 Sunday evening while in his car after returning from town. Born April 8, 1876 in Union County, he was twice married and survived by two children from his first marriage Jessie and Lloyd Ledley of Marion, and Damon Ledley from his second marriage, plus brothers Mell Ledley of Richwood and Newton Ledley of Ridgeway. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Winter & Son chapel with Rev. J. Herbert Goewey. interment in Claiborne cemetery conducted by Lloyd Winter & Son.

Euchre Club Meets at Hall Home on East Blagrove Street
