Mrs Ila Frances Kyle 64 a Richwood businesswoman died December 3 11 30 p m at her son Kenneth Kyles home East Blagrove Street after a six month illness She was born December 26 1881 in Mansfield Ohio married Homer D Kyle in 1905 moved to Richwood and ran the store after her husband died in 1926 Survived by son Kenneth daughter JoAnn Betty Lou Mowry brother J Howard Neal and four grandchildren Funeral by Rev DeLoss Danham Friday at 2 30 pm Winter Chapel with Claiborne Cemetery interment marion Winter in charge Body at son’s home.

Legion Auxiliary Holds Regular Meeting in November

The American Legion Auxiliary met Wednesday night November 27 with president Zita Griffith in charge. A wheel chair purchased for a veteran's hospital is on display in Marion Winter's window. Plans were made for a Christmas party December 11 with the Post as honored guests. Members are urged to attend and bring a 25 cent gift for the gift box. Bring your family.

Cheerful Cheerio Circle meeting hosted by Mrs Sieg

Cheerio Circle of The King's Daughters met Tuesday evening at East Blagrove street home of Mrs Helen Sieg with Mrs Dorothy Hamilton and Mrs Betty Cameron as assistant hostesses. Howards Entertain Council No 9 Friday

Council No 9 met Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Howard. Officers were elected with Charles Shearer as president and Mrs. William Durbin as secretary. Bernard Grays Entertain Council 14 Friday

Council No. 14 met Friday night November 29 at the home of Mr and Mrs Bernard Gray south of town. The hostess led devotions. A Farm Bureau Health Committee report was given and Robert Mather spoke on the State Convention. Contests and bingo followed with a luncheon served by the hostess.

Tigers Lose Opening Game to Pleasant in Debut

Richwood High fell 40 to 22 as Pleasant led early with long range baskets and stayed ahead. Richwood battled back in the third but hit only 2 of 19 shots in the final half while Pleasant made 10 of 30. The reserve game also went to Pleasant 26 to 13. Urbana visits Friday aiming to avenge last year’s loss.

First Baptist Rich wood Launches World Mission Crusade

The First Baptist church in Rich wood begins a World Mission Crusade on Sunday December 8 with the North ern Baptists in a nationwide drive to raise 14 million dollars for postwar reconstruction relief and church work. The local goal is 3000 dollars with a victory meeting set for December 18.

Mrs. Neva Harger of Columbus spent the weekend in Richwood and returned from Washington D C where she accompanied her daughter Mary Lou who joined a 14 piece all girl orchestra. The group will tour the states and later go overseas. Mary Lou, a 1946 Richwood High School senior, has played with the Richwood High School orchestra and other orchestras in Columbus and Marion.

Bus Accident Injures Kenneth Barker in Ohio Crash

Kenneth Barker, 52, is hospitalized in Toledo after a Greyhound bus overturned on an icy highway south of Perrysburg. Fourteen of 35 passengers were injured, Barker suffered a broken left arm, and all injured were kept for X rays and observation. Barker was returning to Richwood from Toledo after Thanksgiving with his son.

Presented Pupils in Recital at Prospect

Mrs. Cara B. Jacobs of Richwood presented a group of her piano pupils in a recital last Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Retterer. The program included duets and solos by Shirley Ann Carey, Rita Wheeler, Louise Retterer, Francine Johnston, Eleanor Howison, Carol Retterer, Cora Jane Lehner, Paul Harmon, and others with works by Schubert, Tschaikowsky, and others. Captain Blake Visits Parents in Richwood

Mr. and Mrs. C B Blake of Albuquerque New Mexico return home after a week with Mr Blake's parents Mr and Mrs C H Blake and sister Mrs Jay L Evans and family. Blake has served nearly four years and was released in July as Captain and Base Quarter Master at Camp Luna New Mexico. They traveled to Akron and Pittsburgh during their stay.
