Judge Sanders Completes Four Years on Union County Bench

Judge Gwynn Sanders completed four years as Common Pleas Judge of Union County on December 1 1964. In four years he disposed of 1056 cases with about 2 hearings weekly for contempt and support matters. the domestic relations docket remained heavy with divorces and minor children. The county paid 2790 dollars of his salary, with the rest from the State. approximately 90 cases remain on the docket, about 20 to be tried by jury.

Richwood Fire Dept Starts Training Program

The Richwood Fire Department begins a 36 hour instructional course led by Don Stout from Marysville. Fire Chief John Hartman organizes weekly sessions with certificates awarded and state education support backing the program.

Mrs. Schussler to speak at Claibourne-Richwood PTA

Claibourne Richwood PTA hosts a joint November December meeting on Parent and Family Life Education at the grade school cafeteria December 3 at 8 p.m. Mrs Dale Schussler chair of the Ohio Congress of PTA will be guest speaker. Mothers Study Club to discuss child religious education

December meeting of the Mothers Study Club will be hosted by Mrs. Russell Roberts on December 10. Rev. John Wagner and others lead a discussion on who bears responsibility for a child's religious education. A children's rummage sale is set for December 12 at the Pure Oil Building to raise funds, with items collected and repaired by members. Contact Mrs. Glenn Oman at 943-3706 to pick up items.

A Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Robinson of Radnor. Toll Free Service Extends Richwood Prospect in 1965

General Telephone Company of Ohio will establish toll free service between Richwood Prospect and extended area links to Prospect Marion in May 1965. Alan D. Fuller district commercial manager said surveys approved the EAS between Prospect Marion and Richwood Prospect. Crews install new cable and central office gear to handle higher call volume and replace Richwood with Automatic Electric equipment.

Tiger Cats Fall Short Against Ridgemont in Reserve Contest

The Tiger Cats reserve team lost 47 to 45 at Ridgemont in a tight game. Ned Cunningham scored 12 and Russ Baker 11 as the lead swapped late, with Ridgemont pulling ahead in the final seconds.

Freak Accident Damages Swartz Motor Sales Display

About 450 dollars in damage resulted when a car rolled over from the curb and crashed into the Ford Agency front at Swartz Motor Sales last Wednesday evening November 25. Two large panes of plate glass were demolished. Richwood Tigers Fall to Ridgemont in Opener

In a non conference tilt at Mt Victory Ridgemont used a sharp first half to beat Richwood 78 to 67. Richwood led by Rex Rader Denny Roberts and Gene Somerset but 32 turnovers doomed the Tigers as Ridgemont’s Buroker and Ramse y along with Carter paced the scoring.

The November Better Mothers Club met at Janice Smith's home with twenty members. John J. Gordon of the Family Service Association of America spoke on services for troubled marriages and juveniles. Mrs. Harry L. Roberts 84 former West Mansfield resident died Tuesday at Crawford Nursing Home Marysville where she had been a patient. Husband died in 1961. Gene Somerlot Named RHS 1964 65 Team Captain

Coach Frank Zirbel announced that guard Gene Somerlot will be the 1964 65 team captain of the Tiger basketball squad. A senior, Somerlot played freshman ball and has been a regular on the reserves. last season he backed up Jack Bright and Dick Retterer.

Civic Center Dinner Draws Many Attendees

The Thanksgiving dinner at the Civic Center on November 26 was well attended with 24 meals served or taken out. Gratitude is expressed to Hub Goerlich and the Richwood Self Serve for their contributions and to pie donors. Plans for a December 18 and 19 Bazaar are announced with consignments invited.

Esther Laird Circle hosts Christmas program at Central Methodist

The Esther Laird Circle met at Mrs. Pearl Johnston's home with Mrs. Louis Erwin assisting. Devotions on Women in Scripture were led by Mrs. John Olsen and a program on Christian womanhood followed. Donations for the Christmas basket are due by Dec 20, and a combined Society meeting for Christmas is planned on Dec 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the church.

Fortnightly Literary Club met in November at Edith Matlack's home with hostesses Opal Darnell Claude Swartz and Charles Gill assisting. President Helen Sieg led the business session.
