Richwood Fair Opens Four Day Run With Kids Day Events
The 1963 Richwood Fair begins Friday for a four day run with judging of orange, fine art, flowers, and vegetables. Kids’ Day offers rides at 10 cents and seventeen contests with cash prizes. Harness races headline each evening with the Western Ohio Colt Stakes and other $ amounts, plus a big livestock sale and horse shows through Labor Day.

Accident Kills Two At Pharisburg Sunday
A two car crash at the Rt 4 and Rt 347 intersection in Pharisburg Sunday at 5 p.m. killed Helen F. Metzger 41 of Rocky River Ohio and her 8 year old daughter Marian. Irwin Tooker 48 and Gertrude Tooker 48 of Tiro along with others were injured with varying conditions reported by state patrol and Marysville Memorial Hospital.

Richwood council reports completion of a new zoning ordinance draft to be acted on next meeting. Mayor recommends removing one way signs on Lynn Street from Oct 1 to May 1 to ease off season traffic. Giant Market Basket Needed For School Lunch
Richwood School lunch room manager Mrs. Mabel DeBolt describes the weekly shopping for 580 pupils. The basket requires about 500 pounds of meat 200 loaves of bread 4000 half pints of milk and numerous fruits and vegetables. Fresh produce is local, canned goods wholesale, with some donations from the U S Department of Agriculture. A balanced lunch is offered at low cost to encourage student participation.

Accident on Route 37 Blamed on Dog
A dog in the road caused an early Sunday crash on State Route 37 about one mile south of Richwood. Martin J. Strischek 16 Marysville Rt. 3 slowed to avoid the dog and was rear ended by Charles M. Dr. Jesse Conrad 55 Dies After Four Week Illness
Dr. Jesse Marie Conrad, 55, died at his Magnetic Springs home August 21 after a four week illness. Born November 25, 1907, he was a chiropractor who owned Dr. Conrads Sanitarium for 28 years before retiring. Survived by his widow Leona Rogers, a son Jesse L., a daughter Judy Foos, and five grandchildren. Funeral service held Saturday at Magnetic Springs Methodist Church with Rev. Rodney Burk. burial at Claiborne Cemetery by Winter Funeral Home.

Richwood Fire Department answered a blaze on North Franklin Street damaging a Frank Wilke truck. Damage was estimated at about $40.
