NU Teaching Staff Complete Bus Info

The North Union Board met in regular session with all members present. Four new teachers were hired for various grades, and support staff added for Byhalia York and Jackson Schools. Reports on the new high school progress and summer maintenance were given. The old York building sale is set for September 7 in York Center, with misc furnishings auctioned at 10. Students must register by August 26 for new attendance, and school starts September 3 with a shortened day. A dual bus routing system will adjust pickups for grades 7-12 and K-6 with specified times and locations.

Riverside nursing graduate ceremony at Battelle Institute

Laurann Reese will graduate from Riverside White Cross School of Nursing on August 29 at 8:00 p.m. with 65 graduates in the Battelle Memorial Institute Auditorium Columbus. Dr. Harold L. Yochum of Capital University will give the address, topic Lets Put Rivers in Our Dreams. A reception follows in the Battelle lobby for graduates and families. Auxiliary Sees New Members and Plans Projects

The American Legion Auxiliary met with Lucretia Welsh presiding and added four new members in the Junior and Senior divisions. A candlelight initiation covered six recruits, committees were named for the coming year, and plans were set to sell score cards at the Richwood Fair. Reservations for the Democratic dinner are due by Sept. 9 with service on Sept. 21.

Area Residents Die In Two Car Crash Near Washington Court House

Three members of the Stanley family died in a Sunday two car crash three miles north of Washington Court House. Mrs Sylvia Stanley 47 her son Joseph 13 and grandson Martin Joe Phillips 9 months were killed. A fourth victim Mrs Shirley Elliott 28 also died and ten were injured. The accident occurred when Mr Stanley ran a stop sign at the Washington Waterloo and Old Springfield Roads intersection. Nat's Pro Archery Championship Won By Robinson

Steve Robinson of Richwood, nicknamed Richwood's Robin Hood, won the National Professional Archery Championship at Canton Ohio a three day meet. He posted 299 of 300 on day one and led by five points at the close, then maintained a narrow margin of four points on day two and day three earning a $1000 prize and a Archery Research Inc sponsor matched award plus a blazer. Mrs Robinson placed ninth in the women's event and the couple traveled to Niagara Falls New York for the next major shoot billed as the largest of the year.
