Rev. Eugene L. Winans 33 pastor of York Center Methodist church was seriously injured in a two car crash near Xenia last week. A hitch hiker 17 from Xenia died. A second rider 16 from Xenia was seriously hurt. Winans car skidded on wet pavement during heavy rain into a Greenville man’s vehicle.

Trailer Truck Wrecks South of Town on Route 4
Vincent Hendricks a 37 year old Cleveland man received a cut hand after his northbound trailer truck left the road 212 miles south of here on Route 4 and overturned, breaking a telephone pole. John Pfarr of Richwood driving north struck the truck’s front as it lay partly on the road. Pfarr his wife and daughter were not injured.

Grindell Passes Flight Test to Become Instructor
Leo Grindell of near here passed Civil Aeronautics Authority tests in Columbus on Thursday earning a flying instructor rating. He began flying at Marion airport three years ago and has owned an Arrow Sport since starting training. He is now licensed to instruct and to do commercial flying.
