Brutal bandits terrorize Oakdale bank robbers strike

Trainmen report a deadly raid near Oakdale Tennessee. Four bandits hired an automobile near Clinton and tied two men, Andrew Crumley and George A. Lewis, then slashed their throats. Lewis died, Crumley survived to alert bank officials. Two bandits fled, two were captured and jailed in Harriman then moved to Knoxville. The bank had no vault breach. a window was broken.

11 Year Old Boy on Trial for Murder

In Knox Indiana Alfred Burkett nine, testified for his 11 year old brother Cecil in a case charging Cecil with the November killing of Bennie Slavin seven. A witness said the shooting was accidental and Cecil was not near the gun when it discharged. The trial was expected to go to the jury.

A Washington dispatch notes Roy Blaine Williams of Jackson Breathitt county is recommended by Senator Ernst for marshal of the Eastern District of Kentucky, to succeed Henry M. Cox of West Liberty. Williams, a twin of Reed Williams, faced a spirited contest from Sam Collins backers and enjoys strong support. Collins was moved to Prohibition Enforcement Officer as the matter settled. Frankfort Kentucky June 2 Local reward of $100 offered for the capture of George Sanders Spencer county's pioneer moonshiner who escaped from jail at Taylville Sunday night was amplified by another $100 offered today by Governor Morrow County Judge Thad Cheatham reported Sanders and his father in law were arrested while operating a still in the west end of the county and 2000 gallons of beer and whisky were seized and destroyed He said Sanders is a dangerous man and after his arrest saved the bars of the county jail and is still at large.
