UR Band To Play First At R M Game
The University of Richmond Spider band makes its first appearance this year at the Richmond Randolph Macon game in the Richmond Stadium. Directed by W. T. Sinclair, the band expanded with last year’s members and new freshmen. Lawrence Sheffield Jr will again be drum major and Marie Faison of Colonial Heights will be drum majorette.

New Philologians Dance For New Members At Kappa Sigma
The Philologian Literary Society hosts an informal dance at the Kappa Sigma house tonight from 8 30 to midnight inviting new and prospective members. Westhampton girls have permission to attend by Dean Keller. Over 40 attended Monday’s meeting featuring a forum on whether the North or South has managed social and economic Negro issues better. Bill Hughes received a new gavel from President Wiggins. Next Monday’s program will feature a debate on whether the University of Richmond should have ROTC.

One hundred thirteen Richmond College men accepted bids after a two week rush period. Kappa Sigma pledged 19 men while Theta Chi and Phi Gamma Delta pledged 18 and 14 respectively. Phi Kappa Sigma followed with ten. Twenty one bid recipients did not pledge. Pledges include Kappa Sigma members such as Charles W. Buford Jr and Jon Foster. Theta Chi lists Frank Bohannon and Jack Lewis among others. Phi Gamma Delta includes Jack Atkinson and Bill Bryan.

Draft Act Exempts All College Students
