Regulations For Freshmen Go Into Effect

Richmond College prepares a revised rat system to begin next Wednesday morning under the Planning Commission of 1939 40. Freshmen will receive compulsory equipment at a Freshman Class meeting Tuesday with caps and ties costing 1 50 each. The Administrative Committee will enforce rules, offenders go into the rat trap, wear insignia, and endure a quietus. Cooperation from all students is urged.

Pierce named to Student Meeting Planning Board at Richmond College

President Boatwright appointed Dr J Stanton Pierce associate professor of chemistry to the Student Meeting Planning Board to plan Wednesday chapel meetings and arrange speakers. Gordon ReMine, Junior Senator, chairs the board, with members Garber Turkington Durrett Brauer Andrews and others.

YMCA Cabinet Meets Friday At 7 30 PM

The YMCA will hold its first cabinet meeting next Friday at 7 30 in the YMCA Building. President Joseph Wornum urges all cabinet members to attend as plans for the coming year are drafted and a phonograph records campaign begins.

Westhampton YWCA announces Membership Week from September 29 through October 5 led by president Henrietta Sadler. Activities include a mother daughter tea on September 29 in the Activities Building Reception Room. New and old students will sign membership cards as enrollment increases.

Fraternities Launch Official Rushing Season at Richmond College

Eleven fraternities set the official rushing period from 8 PM tomorrow to 12 PM Monday. Rules from the Interfraternity Council govern dates bids and penalties, with a silence day following until Tuesday afternoon.

Governor to Organize Draft Committees Across States

The governor will appoint over 160 local selective service boards to classify men aged 21 to 365 under the new Military Conscription Act. Each county and city gets at least one board with physicians and three members above draft age. Lieutenant Colonel Leroy Hodges named liaison officer while Mills F. Neal is State Director in charge of the draft.
