Tau Kappa Alpha to Hold Annual Convention at Richmond
Tau Kappa Alpha Virginia Chapter plans its annual convention at the University of Richmond with about fifty delegates from ten colleges including Randolph-Macon Hampden Sydney Roanoke Bridgewater Lynchburg Emory and Henry William and Mary Sweet Briar and Randolph-Macon Women's College. Delegates will stay overnight on campus with dates tentatively set for October 10.

Committees for the Richmond College Student Government Social to be held Friday October 25 1929 were announced at the first meeting. Photographer finishes first phase of Richmond College Web 1930
The Web photographer, who has worked in the chemistry building, left Richmond College last Saturday to return in October. About three hundred students have yet to be photographed for the annual, with sketches for the theme and background to be updated to a modernistic or futuristic look. The Web's past themes included Spider Spirit Demodocracy and the Greater University.

Student Government Urges Payment of Budget Fees
The president calls attention to many old students who have not paid their budget fees while most freshmen have done so. A list showing each campus organization’s member payment percentage will be published soon. The treasurer Phil Newton will accept payments in the Student Shop on specified days and times.

New Men Urged to Try Out for Band
Allmen who play instruments suitable for the band and who have not communicated with Mike Kent the band director are urged to do so immediately. Rehearsals will be held each Monday and Thursday nights for the next two or three weeks. The band opens its program on October 5 with the Spiders playing Wake Forest at the new stadium. About twenty five men have shown interest, but old members are not showing the proper spirit.

Inter fraternity council amends rushing rules
At a called meeting the inter fraternity council adopted three amendments to rushing rules after heated discussion. The resolutions allow non resident members to spend meals or shows for new men in a 2 to 4 ratio with four Fresh as a max, permit in house members to entertain Freshmen at shows, and allow meals with no extra expense, effective immediately.

Spider rallies planned for football season
Chief cheerleader Johny Bowden announces week long open-air rallies Monday through Thursday at four in the afternoon on the field during team scrimmages for the first home game against Wake Forest College on Saturday October 5. A torch-light freshmen parade is set for Friday night October 4. Five assistant cheerleaders were chosen at last Tuesday’s rally: Bill Roper, R. M. Wilson, Hammell, Owens, and another from the Junior Class. Focus on supporting the new cheer squad and learning the songs.
