Fraternity Rush Closes As 1988 Season Ends
Entering the final week of this year’s rushing season eleven social fraternities push to recruit new members. Formal rush dates Sunday and Monday end the 1988 rush period with Silence Day on Tuesday September 27 when freshmen rushers submit their choices at the alumni office.
Debate Team Seeks Members for World’s Fair Trip
Open to all students from Frenchmen to seniors, no experience needed. The first meeting is Tuesday at 2 PM in Room 108 Biology Building to join the campus debate team and possibly travel to New York for the World's Fair.

Westhampton College students may buy season ticket books covering all home football baseball basketball and track events at Richmond. Nominations Open For Richmond College Student Government
Nominations for the office of president of Richmond College Student Government and representative to the Athletic Association are due September 27. Nominations must be to Corbin White and signed by three student body members. President George George resigned on September 15 to enter dental school. Bill Via is ineligible this fall due to scholastic issues and now works as assistant manager at Tantilla Garden. Elections are set for October 4 after rushing season ends.

Waring Signs Patsy Garrett For Air Show
Seventeen year old Patsy Garrett, freshman at Westhampton College last year, signs as vocalist with Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians. Her first broadcast with the orchestra will be Saturday October 8 at 9 30 p.m. The Richmond girl gained the post after radio tryouts in New York arranged with Jim Hawkins of the Fred Allen program. She is well known at the university for glee club work.

First Annual Student Association Dance Planned at Westhampton

Three Speak At Opening Chapel Today
Dr. Douglas S. Freeman chair of the University Board of Trustees will address the Convocation at the university opening. Horace Edwards Richmond City Attorney alumnus of Richmond College will speak with Dr. Theodore F. Adams pastor of First Baptist Church of Richmond. President F. W. Boatwright introduces the speakers as Dean Pinchbeck and Dean Keller report enrollments. The ceremony includes a senior faculty procession led by Line Marshall Dr. R. C. McDanel. Radio WRNL will broadcast at noon from Cannon Memorial Chapel.

Al Klaffky Charlotte Beale and George Somers were named by the Richmond Board of Publications to head the 1938 yearbook Web staff. Klaffky becomes editor in chief after three years on the annual, Beale takes over as Westhampton editor, and Somers is named business manager. Beale previously served as snapshot editor and succeeds Elizabeth Darracott.
