Westhampton Dean Resigns to Return to Teaching and Research

Westhampton Dean Miss Marguerite Roberts resigns after 16 years to focus on teaching and research. She will stay as acting dean until a successor is appointed and plans to publish her work on Hardy and The Dynasts. She taught Shakespeare and 20th century literature and will Helm the English department when a new leader is found.

Richmond College Freshmen Brace for Historic Orientation

Orientation labeled best ever at Richmond College with a new freshman sophomores field day on September 27 at Millhiser Memorial Athletic Field from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Events include open mile 100-yard dash mile relay and a 200 man tug of war. A freshman-sophomore athletic supremacy award goes to the class with the most points.

Westhampton Installs New Dietitians at College

Westhampton College welcomes Mrs. Gertrude Arnall as dietitian and Mrs. Dorothy Mason as assistant dietitian. Arnall brings ten years of Thalhimer's food service and management experience. Mason has eight years as a Thalhimer's food manager. They seek closer student coordination in dining and activities and note waitress scholarships for sophomores to seniors. interested students should consult Arnall for details.

IFC Open House at Westhampton Tomorrow

The Richmond College Interfraternity Council invites women to visit Westhampton lodges tomorrow from 3:00 to 5:00 pm with two cars per fraternity and chaperones on site. Freshmen are not allowed in the lodges during the event.

College Players Open House At University

The University Players invite all students to an open house today from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Quonset Hut. Skits will showcase theater facilities. Refreshments will be served and attendance is open to all students.

Alpha Epsilon Pi wins the Interfraternity Scholarship Cup for 1962-63 at the University of Richmond with a 1.605 average. Phi Sigma Delta is runner up, Lambda Chi Alpha third, and Sigma Phi Epsilon and Kappa Sigma also in the top five as the All-Men's Average rises and Phi Epsilon receives improvement honors. Awards follow a new GPA scale and will be presented at a college assembly.

Scott Named Director of University of Richmond Student Center

Guy Scott has been appointed director of the University of Richmond Student Center succeeding Robert Stone who retired this year. He said the center should foster fellowship sponsor functions and services and with student cooperation provide essential time for relaxation.
