Richmond and area colleges plan June commencement

More than 400 degrees will be awarded at University of Richmond ceremonies on June 10 in Luther Memorial Amphitheatre. Walter Pope Binns, president emeritus of William Jewell College, will give the address. Richmond College confers 122 degrees and Westhampton College 111. The School of Business Administration grants 70 degrees, and 45 law degrees are distributed. The Rev Harry Y Gamble will address graduates.

Westhampton Seniors Win Mortr Board Cup and Seals

The Class of 1963 received the Mortr Board cup at Moving-Up Chapel for spirit and participation. Seniors Carolyn Anthony and Sally Clark were presented with the Westhampton Seal by the Athletic Association. Judy Barlow accepted the Mortar Board award for the Class of 1968. The University Players and COLLEGIAN were praised for improvements. The Athletic Association honored members with blazers for three varsity letters.

Cohen elected president of Richmond College IFC council

Eddie Cohen was elected president of the Richmond College Lyterfrater nity Council. Pee Wee Lee was chosen vice president. Cohen leads Phi Sigma Desta and Lee heads Phi Kappa Alpha. The new rush rule shortens rush to four weeks from September 30 to October 26. September 28 is open house day for rushees. A joint party at Westhampton tennis courts is planned. Cohen Lee and Patten will represent Richmond IFC at the national convention.

Glee Club Elects Seven Officers at Westhampton College

Pat Dabney is elected president of the Westhampton College Glee Club with Phyllis Gorker as vice president Susan Grable as secretary Pat Stinson as treasurer Ann Dixon and Jenn Reynolds as librarians and Pat Bankes as business manager The group announces new officers.

Westhampton College Alumnae Day set for June 8

Westhampton College will host Alumnae Day on June 8 with a 9:00 a.m. Governing Board meeting in the Alumnae Room Keller Mall followed by registration and coffee in Keller Hall. A 11:50 a.m. pool dedication at Fanny G. Crenshaw pool will feature tributes and memorials.

Seventeen Elected Join UR Journalism Honorary Pi Delta Epsilon

Seventeen University of Richmond students were initiated into Pi Delta Epsilon the journalism honorary. Notable members include R. Society Awards Literary Prizes in Philologian Contest

Leslie M. Baker won top poetry and Aaron D. Hopkins led in prose with first place in the Philologian Literary Society contest. Each $15 prize was announced Monday, with Walter Greenwood receiving $15 for two honorable mentions in prose fiction. Judges were Irby Brown and Dr Talbot R Selby.
