University Adds Ten Professors for 1941 42 at Westhampton College

President F W Boatwright announced ten new faculty appointments for the 1941 42 term at Westhampton College. New hires include Dr Walter F Snyder associate professor of Greek and Latin and Byers Miller associate professor of economics and applied economics. Francis B Key instructor in mathematics and Mrs Frank Apperly of Richmond instructor in speech join a faculty reshaped by wartime drafts and commissions.

University Players open season with Room Service

The University Players set a September 24 opening for Room Service as part of the 1941 42 season. Season tickets cost one dollar with reserved seats forty five cents extra. Tryouts announced for Monday afternoon at the Playhouse.

University of Richmond Enrolls 20 For 1941 42 CAA Flight Training

The Civil Aeronautics Authority caps the university flight program at twenty primary course students for 1941 42. Dean Raymond H B Pinchbeck notes ten advanced trainees may follow later. Frank Crouch directs the 72 hour ground school while Vincent Burnett leads the 32 hours of flight training at Byrd airport.

Pitt Freshmen Health Strong Says Pitt Dean

About 200 freshmen and transfer students examined by Richmond College Physical Education and Dr Cullen report the Class of 1946 as the healthiest in years. Dr Raymond B Pinchbeck expects 100 to 200 new freshmen and 35 to 40 transfers to join a total around 280, near average registration. He notes many students still unregistered and a drop in physical declines in the cohort.

Westhampton Freshmen Picnic Planned by Athletic Association

The Athletic Association will hold its annual picnic for Westhampton freshmen today at 5 o'clock in the Faculty Kitchen. Frances Badenoch, president, says the event will acquaint the Class of 1945 with Westhampton spirit through songs yells and general fun.
