Spiders Grid Outlook Bright For 1935 Season
University of Richmond enters its fiftieth gridiron season with strong prospects for 1935. Co captains George Lacy and Edward Schaaf lead a 30 man squad as Glenn Thistlethwaite coaches with Russell Crane as line coach. The backfield must be rebuilt with Perry Schultz Jimmy West Roger Leverton Jack Dobson and Fred Vaughan leaving big shoes to fill. Schaaf moves to fullback and Frank Tymosko competes at the plunging position as the Spiders aim for state honors despite a tougher outlook than 1934.

Westhampton College Students Attend Southern Y M C A Conference
Florence Marston Margaret Bow ers and Mildred Eckhardt represented Westhampton College at the annual Southern Y M C A Y W conference at Blue Ridge this summer. Miss Marston, president of the Westhampton Y W C A, studied there the entire season. She said the main result was Southern students uniting to foster better Christian relations among whites and associated races. Students from colleges across the South attended the conference.
