Westhampton Seniors Stage Class Show Night of Entertainment

The Westhampton senior class presents a minstrel tonight at 8 in Keller Hall gym with Gonnie Nunn as president and Diana Davis as vice president directing. Performers include Sharon Leith and others in jokes and skits, an Ink Spots singing group, a Charleston routine by the Trip-Slappin' Foot-Stompin' Six, and a chorus led by Letty Sloan. Admission is 50 cents and proceeds support the Class of 1964 fund-raiser.

Phi Beta Kappa Awards Honor Two College Sophoomores

Judith Page Scott of Westhampton College and Richard Presley Corbin of Richmond College received the RV, Loving Book Awards from the Virginia Epsilon chapter for high scholastic achievement based on their freshman years. Speakers included Professor James W. Payne Jr and Dr. Stephen K. Bailey who discussed American maturity and world adolescence.

UR Debaters Capture Prize at Wake Forest Novice Tourney

University of Richmond debaters led by Patt Colling Pat Brown and Noel Davidson along with Bob Ox from Richmond College won first place, defeating 33 schools across nine states and DC. Pitt placed second. Topics centered on guaranteed college access for all qualified high school graduates.

The film The Perfect Furlough screens at 7 30 in the student center. Starring Tony Gurtis and Janet Leigh, it follows a sailor in Antarctica who wins a contest and earns a furlough in Paris. If possible, football game pictures will be shown and announced in the center with screening times.

Glee Club Stages Warmups For Open Fall Dance

The Guys and Dolls ensemble plans a large open dance in Millhiser Gym Sunday night from 8 to midnight. Tickets cost $2 per couple and $1.25 for singles with proceeds supporting Glee Club activities and upcoming tours to New Jersey Delaware and Maryland.

University Choir Sings at Virginia Convention and Tour

The University Choir will perform at the Virginia State Baptist Convention in Alexandria on Wednesday. Repertoire includes Kyrie from the Mass Pope Marcellus by Palestrina and Lost in the Night by F M Christiansen. A December 9 concert follows, with a spring tour to Hollins College, University of Virginia, National Cathedral, and St Thomas Cathedral.
