Colleges Welcome War Veterans in Town Parade

Last Saturday afternoon colleges joined in a royal welcome for Virginia war veterans on West Franklin Street. A lively block parade led by college girls featured spirited cheers and a marching column. Wounded veterans rode in automobiles as the procession passed, with continued coverage promised on page two.

Dr Freeman Lectures On Anglish Language At West Hampton Chapel

Dr Douglas Freeman addressed the West Hampton student body at chapel invited by Miss Luis. He described two views of words as colored mogales forming brilliant pictures and as soldiers for parade or strategic moves. He praised his mastery of language and noted women in newspaper work depend on individual ability.

Medals Awarded at Phi Logian Society Meeting

At the Phi logian Literary Society on Monday May 26 contestants competed for the improvement in debate and the best reader’s medal. CG G Carter won the debate medal and W J Hatcher the reader’s medal with the poem Fiorette by Robert W Service. The judges were Professors Bryan Handy and Dingus. QO Kincanon won the best declamation against eight opponents.

Richmond College Baseball appears to Rebuild for Next Season

Richmond Pi Kappa Alpha Hosts Hamond Alumni Yacht Party

The Richmond College Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity invited Hamond alumni to a yacht party at the Richmond Yacht Club on the Richmond River. Guests enjoyed supper at the Wib-hoone followed by dancing to an orchestra and singing during the return trip upstream as music echoed across the water.

Tri Phi Takes Turn on the James in River Race

On a May evening the Tri Phi Pr fraternity hosted a river race on the James River. The Mary Lou and Byelya launched, with the Evelyn favored to win, as J. B. and Tommy were rescued from the current. A noon-to-end event featured a public speech by Dr Mandy and a permissive banquet ending as the orchestra began.

Kappa Sigma Beta Beta Holds Moonlit Yacht Club Trip

The Beta Beta chapter organized a pleasant river journey to the Yacht Club last Thursday night. A full moon lit the event after a picnic supper as members danced and strolled along the riverbank enjoying the nocturnal outing.

Theta Chi Moonlit River Hop Ends Summer Trip

Theta Chi members held their annual river hop under a full moon and mild weather. Launches waited at the dock, a downstream trip began, a lined supper was served, an orchestra played and dancing followed as guests enjoyed boating and riverbank strolling before bidding the yacht club farewell under the moonlit sky.

Lambda Chi Alpha Yacht Party Fun on the River

One feature Hel lenic Society event was the yacht ing party hosted by the Lambda Chi Alpha men last Saturday evening. Guests sailed down the river enjoyed a picnic supper drank punch and danced to an orchestra. The trip up the river ended the evening with unlimited joy.

Phi Kappa Sigma reports another pleasant river outing Tuesday evening at the yacht club. Supper was supplied by the Indies of the party and served on arrival. Punch and music by an orchestra accompanied the dancing session.

The yacht Geneva carried Phi Delta Omega Fraternity members and guests to the Yacht Club last Saturday night where dancing refreshments and music were enjoyed by all. The evening was unique and thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Continued on Page Three.
