Iulas Orchestra to Play at Richmond German Club Dance

University of Richmond German Club schedules its final dance at the Hotel Richmond Winter Garden on Friday June 7 with Bob Jula and his Recording Orchestra of Baltimore. The event runs 9:00 to 1:30 and is expected to attract a large attendance as the season’s last dance.

Summer School Opens at University of Richmond June 17

The Summer School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Richmond begins on Monday June 17 and runs nine weeks to August 16. Registration is due by June 17. Examinations occur August 15 and 16. The courses serve regular students and others seeking credit or certificate in fields including chemistry biology and physics.

Hamlet to Be Played June 8 at Westhampton College

The University Players stage Shakespeare for closing exercises on June 8 at 8 15 p m in the patio beside the Administration Building directed by Emily Brown with Elmer Potter as Hamlet and Nevitt Sanford as Horatio Rosencrantz and Guildenstern roles are filled by Ham’s companions.

Glee Club to Perform Final Concert of Season

The Glee Club will give its last concert tonight in the Red Cross Building at Westhampton. The group returns after a strong season to perform for students and raise funds for other colleges and schools. The full club is to appear, with hopes the original quartet remains intact for this final show. The weather did not stop their Monday trip.

Y. M. C. A. Year Book Goes to Press Aug 1

Richmond College Y M C A in cooperation with Westhampton College Students Government has prepared the first year book in four years. Benson Publishing Company of Nashville will print 1000 copies, finished by August 1 as a pocket sized volume of about 100 pages with practical campus life information.

Pi Delta Epsilon Elects Officers for Next Year

The honorary journalism fraternity Pi Delta Epsilon elected Donald R. Mann as President and K D Walker as Secretary Treasurer at a May 18 meeting. Mann is Editor in Chief of the Collegian and Business Manager of the 1930 Web. Walker is Assistant Business Manager of the Collegian. E. P. Buxton and R. P. Johnson retire from office.

International Relations Club awards keys at Richmond College

The International Relations Club at Richmond College honors members with keys for leading two or more discussions and maintaining regular attendance. Pi Alpha Society Announces Spring Elections

Pi Alpha Society at Westhampton announced its spring elections at chapel on May 15. From the Junior Class, Miss Helen Harwood, Frances Willis, and Cornelia Ferguson were chosen. The society, not a national honorary sorority, compares to Omicron Delta Kappa and has petitioned Mortar Board, with acceptance expected in June.

Dr A R Marchetti Class of 1924 visited the campus and spoke to Dr Mitchells classes. L L Richardson Class of 1924 talked with Dr Ryland while R A Louthen Bluefield College mathematics professor was present. Dean Prince Announces Changes in Majors and Minors

Dean W. L. Prince of Richmond College informs students below the junior class of faculty action on May 7 1929. The Committee on Courses and Degrees recommended major subjects and related minors with a permissive list and room to select other minors with faculty consent.

Legacy Left to Mu Sigma Rho by Rochester Pastor

Rev. James Taylor Dickenson D D former pastor of the First Baptist Church Rochester New York died April 29 1929 leaving a will providing a hundred dollar legacy to the Mu Sigma Rho Literary Society of the University of Richmond to be paid after liquidation in 1930 by Security Trust Company executors. He was a member and officer of the society as a student graduating in 1882 before further study at the University of Virginia.
