University annual editor named in 1960 Collegian changes

Richard B. Brewer was named editor of the 1960 Web, the University annual, by the Board of Publications. Betty Pritchett will edit the yearbook, Minna Wilson the bias ness winnower, and Mildred Gilman named business manager of Tin Kidmanp Cor LIGIAN with Christopher Hassel Jr. as assistant. Other appointments include Meurial Webb religious news editor and Thomas H. Atkins Prat Chat columnist.

Pup Rescue Near Thomas Hall Captivates College Crowd

Four and a half hours of effort by Richmond College men and SPCA volunteers rescued a frightened puppy from a storm drain near Thomas Hall. The operation began about 6 50 pm and ended around close to 11 pm with students and Alan Burgess assisting.

Beverly Brown Named Outstanding Student at Westhampton

Beverly Brown, outgoing YWCA president, received the Westhampton Outstanding Student award at Moving Cup Chapel. She won the Altrusa Club award for embodying service, efficiency, and patriotism and has held leadership roles in Wesley Foundation and Religious Focus Week.

Treasure Island at SAB in Technicolor Tonight

Treasure Island will be shown in Technicolor at the SAB Student Center tonight at 7 40 p m featuring Bobby Driscoll Robert Newton and Basil Sydney. The film runs about an hour and a half and follows a boy amid pirates and peril with refreshments to follow.

Honor Medals Awarded To RC Seniors

Robert Bloxom received the Richmond Alumni Council medal as the outstanding senior at Richmond College during the alumni luncheon last Saturday. He is a ministerial student, SGA president, active in BSU YMCA Ministerial Association and Senate, and a member of ODK and EA. Philip H. Brandt earned the Norman medal as top senior in the School of Business Administration. he is on the dean's list and in Alpha Society with marketing studies.

Six Honorary Degrees To Be Awarded At Richmond June Commencement

University of Richmond will confer six honorary degrees at the June 8 commencement. Colgate W. Darden will give the graduation address to six college degree winners.
