Seven Westhampton Athletes Receive Seals at Banquet

Six Westhampton girls were presented athletic seals by Kathryn Conner, president, for athletic ability and support of varsity and alliss teams. Seniors Watkins Frazer Kelly White Willett Fleet win seals. Judith Florence receives a banner for hockey tennis and track. Mollie Fleet repeats track leader, doubles champs Alice Pownell and Frances Coleman earn tennis letters.

Richmond College Handbook Plans for 1036 1037

Editors announce plans for a new Richmond College handbook for 1036 1037 session. Francis Tyndall editor Ralph Moore associate editor John Haw business manager say the handbook will include this year’s athletic records and appear in September for incoming freshmen orientation.

Versatile Unit To Play At Final Dance

Ted Fio-Rito will lead a seventeen member ensemble for the finals dance on June 9 celebrating the university’s 104th year. The program opens June 8 with Lee Brown and his Duke Blue Devils whose dance engagements have earned praise in the region. The Duke band is noted for a moderately slow melodic style heard on Southern radio networks.

Senior Exams Listed by Room and Date

Senior examinations will be held in rooms on Friday May 22 in Chemistry lecture room Saturday May 23 in Biology lecture room and Monday May 25 in Chemistry lecture room.

Student Leaders Plan Orientation Week

Student Leaders met with Dr. Benjamin Hollarclaw Jr chairman of the Faculty Personnel Committee to plan Orientation Week for incoming freshmen scheduled September 14 to 19. About 26 representatives from campus organizations attended and discussed continuing the same program as this year with minor suggestions from the Honor Council.

Six Richmond Seniors to Receive University Award

Six seniors will be honored with the Senior Award at the University of Richmond this afternoon for athletic work over three years. George Lacy is highlighted as the standout, having earned three letters in football basketball and baseball and serving as captain of one team and co captain of another. The other recipients are Herb Hash Winfrey Brown Stan Cieeke Wills Wills and Woodrow Clark for their long athletic careers at the college.

Shakespeare Rehearsal Rivets Greek Theatre for Comedy of Errors

Queer Remarks Punctuate Shakespearian Rehearsal reports rehearsals for A Comedy of Errors to be staged June 4 in the Greek Theatre. Fio-Rito Orchestra To Feature Slow Tempos At Last Dance

The Fio-Rito Orchestra will feature slow tempos for the Last Dance. Vocalists Muzzy Marcelino and the Three Debutantes bring romantic numbers with distinctive style. Candy the drummer will sing briefly, adding novelty and swing to the program. Tickets go on sale soon.

Leaders Push Student Drive For Richmond College Fund

Richmond College funds campaign moves slowly with only about half of students contacted. Law students under Granger West and Westhampton College supporters led by Margaret Watkins reported full 100 percent participation. Chairman Charles H. Ryland urged all students to contribute before exams, noting non fraternity members are hardest to reach.

Westhampton Glee Club elects Miller as president

Helen Miller was elected president of the Westhampton Glee Club at a recent meeting. Roberta Winfrey was chosen vice president and Edna Loving secretary-treasurer. The club plans a welcome tea for new freshmen next fall and two concerts one in spring and one in fall followed by dances.
