Biscaha Elected Chairman of Richmond College Honor Council
Joe Biscaha, junior class member and football co captain, was chosen chairman of the Richmond College Honor Council. He also serves as junior class president and will lead Omicron Delta Kappa for 1958 59. He has varsity baseball experience and held Religious Emphasis Week treasurer. Chris Sizemore, sophomore, was elected secretary for 1958 59 and is Gottenian managing editor and Virginia Intercollegiate Press Association Public Relations Director. He belongs to Pi Delta Epsilon and Pi Kappa Alpha.

RC Seniors Gift Prayer Room at Cannon Memorial Chapel
The Richmond College Senior Class will present a prayer room in Cannon Memorial Chapel as the class gift at June graduation. The space will be an anteroom converted for individual prayer and redecorated under an interior decorator. The gift includes an altar Bible Bible stand candelabra and a drapery backdrop with scripture engravings. Class President Bob Kendall called it the most appropriate and lasting gift.

Steel firm grants boost Virginia college fund drive
The Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges received an additional grant from United States Steel Corporation's American Bridge Division. Dr George M Modlin of the University of Richmond accepted the check from L Randall Thomas in Roanoke. Twelve non tax supported schools share the funds including Bridgewater Amory and Henry Hampden Sydney Hollins Lynchburg College Mary Baldwin Randolph Macon Randolph Macon Woman's College University of Richmond Roanoke Sweet Briar and Washington and Lee. Total steel grants reach about 75000.

VIPA Elects Dixon Sizemore In Session Here Last Week
VIPA elected Howard Dixon and Christian Sizemore as secretary treasurer and publicity director at a heated session. The split factions, led by VMI delegates and University of Richmond, debated sweeping changes before a compromise. Henry Thomas announced winners of the newspaper contest at a luncheon.

The Richmond Collegian received a Second Class Honor Rating in the Associated Collegiate Press critique based on first semester issues. It ranked 39 papers in the nation with 2940 points, 110 behind First Class, and earned high marks for sports coverage and overall presentation.
