The RG Grievance Committee survey from 500 of 640 forms shows most Richmond College dorm residents unhappy with refectory food, service hours, and line wait times. Results will go to Dr. Wheeler, then RO Senate, with possible meal ticket changes discussed.
Six men will receive honorary degrees at the University of Richmond commencement on June 5. Richmonders Horace H. Edwards and Dr. George J. Oliver, plus Dr. Lucius M. Polkin, retire this year. Other honorees include Kenneth R. Erilt, Dr. Polkin, and two Baptist pastors from Richmond and Lakeland, Fla.
Alumni Day activities continue with a Campus Fermont panel at 11 am in Gannon Memorial Chapel featuring Dr Rosalind Allen Barker and Dr Fillmore H Sanford. Westhampton alumnae luncheon at Keller Hall followed by senior luncheon in Millhiser Gym and portraits unveiled for retiring faculty Dr Ralph MacDanel and Coach Malcolm A Pitt. University of Richmond-William and Mary game on Millhiser Field ends with a President Modlin reception. Finale tenor concert in Gannon Memorial Chapel features works by Fleischer Lasso and Bach plus folk songs and spirituals.
The Interfraternity Council and the Faculty Committee on Fraternities restated Article I Section A to clarify enforcement of university regulations on drinking and ungentlemanly conduct at campus venues. The revised articles, signed by next year’s fraternity presidents after discussion, outline investigation and hearing procedures for fraternity chapters and members.
Westhampton junior Martha Dorman is editor in chief of The Messenger and Richmond College freshman George Douglas is station manager of WCRG radio for the 1967 68 term. Gordon Converse becomes associate editor. Bill Worrell is radio station business manager. Dale Patrick leads The Messenger staff. Warren Edwards heads the yearbook.
