Cotten elected president of Omicron Delta Kappa circle

Robert Cotten of Richmond won the presidency of Epsilon Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa at the annual election on Monday. Skee Goode of Richmond was elected vice president, and Professor Fred Caylor was reelected secretary treasurer. Cotten holds multiple campus leadership roles and honors.

Cooperatives win major share in student elections

In Tuesday's Student Government races Cooperatives captured twelve of sixteen offices. Eddie Klein won the Senior Class presidency while M Ilwaine Thistlethwaite led the Junior and Bill Mactwaine the Sophomore lines. Ben Rouzie defeated C Livingston Batten in the Board of Publications special election.

Theta Chi Wins Waring Trophy at Inter-Fraternity Sing

Theta Chi fraternity with 19 grooving men and piano accompanist won the Fred Waring trophy for best rendition of The Fightin Spiders at Cannon Chapel inter-fraternity sing. Judges McDanel and Skinner gave a unanimous decision over Sigma Phi Epsilon and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Shelton Belsches directed. Phillip Keppler arranged and played piano. Sigma Eps and SABs lacked piano. led by Paul Saunier and Ashley DeShazer. The 16 inch gold loving cup will be engraved for Dan Birchett, Theta Chi president.

Richmond College Student Government Seeks Document Preservation

The Student Government Association asks campus organizations excluding social fraternities and national honor societies to prepare copies of constitutions and other papers plus this year’s activities for filing in the Student Government Office. Horse Tail Fraternity Adopts Draft Bill Eleven Rookies Drafted

Eleven Richmond College men were inducted into the honorary Horse Tail Fraternity Alpha Sigma Sigma on RHReteey May 8 by the campus water, with ceremonies in the Student Activities Building in 1962. New members include Simpson Williams Bob Kell Ed Massie Eddie Adams Rawley Daniel Frank Britton Salvatore Casale Robert J. Martin II and Al Philpott. Martin elected president for the year amid Britton objections. Initiation featured milk shakes cigarets and matches as tokens.

UR Trustees Elect Three New Members To Fill Vacancies

University of Richmond trustees elected three new members to eight year terms to replace two deceased directors and a retired member. The new appointees are Mrs. Charles B. Keesee of Martinsville H Hiter Harris of Richmond and M M Long of St Paul Va. Harris also joins the executive committee. The board re elected Dr Stuart McGuire John Stewart Bryan Mrs H W Decker and Dr Sparks MELton.

Henry T Ware voices YMCA cabinet plans for next year

Henry T. Ware student secretary of the southern YMCA region spoke to the Richmond College Y Cabinet at its final meeting of the year. He discussed plans for next year after leading the Camp Johnson meeting where five local Y members returned. Delegates Lankford Walter Haden John Decker Bob Filer and John Bain joined the trip and Vernon Lankford will lead activities next year.

University To Confer Honorary Degrees At June Exercises

Judge Clifton A. Woodrum will keynote the June 10 commencement at Westhampton College as the University of Richmond awards two honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees. The Rev. V Carney Hargroves of First Baptist Church German town Philadelphia and Dr. Reuben B. Alley editor of the Religious Herald receive the degrees. Alumni Day runs June 7 to 9 with an alumni banquet on June 10 and certificates for 52 alumni whose sons attend the university.

The Radio Guild at the University of Richmond elected Harrol Brauer president and Mary Hoffman vice president at a Cannon Chapel meeting. Evelyn McAuley was chosen secretary treasurer, Betty Sessler was reappointed publicity chairman, and plans were announced for a hay ride picnic to Forest Hill Park next Monday.
