Bob Allen and his Orchestra, now at the Cafe Rouge in New York, are signed to play the UK Finals on Monday May 24. Nelson Bull announces a nine to one dance with booster prices for subscribers and non-subscribers. Pauli Kelly, ex Glenn Miller vocalist, features as lead singer.

Westhampton Senior Pianist to Give Recital Tonight

Westhampton senior Lowaila Rowland will present her senior piano recital at 8 15 P M in the Reception Room of the Student Activities Building. Freshman Dorothy White will accompany on violin and assist in the program. Rowland performs works by Bach Rameau Liszt Chopin Brahms Tschaikowsky and more with White from the city in attendance. The public is invited.

Spring Formal Set In RC Gym at Virginia Alpha

Sigma Phi Epsilon at Virginia Alpha will hold its Spring Formal in Millhixey Gym tomorrow night. Music by Burt Repine and WRVA Orchestra with Kitty Breeze, from 9 pm, ends by midnight. Chaperones include Dr and Mrs Holtzelaw and others. Coca Cola concession planned in lobby.

Bowden Leads University of Richmond Chemistry Club

Edward Bowden of Richmond was elected to lead the University of Richmond Chemistry Club for 1948 44 succeeding Elmer West of Mayslick Kentucky. Bowden a chemistry major and junior will also head the organic lab as a summer instructor. Other officers elected include Ann Howard Hamp ton William McClure Richmond and Warren Walthall Richmond.

Dr George W Sadler to address UK seniors May 24

Dr George W Sadler secretary of the Baptist Foreign Mission Board for Europe Africa and the Near East will preach the baccalaureate sermon during graduation weekend announced by Professor Woodford B Hackley chairman of the graduation committee. Thomas B McAdams president of Union Trust Company in Baltimore founder of the McAdams award will give the final graduation night address May 24. The four day program opens with the Sophomore Senior Garden Party at Westhampton College Friday at 6 PM.

Westhampton College War Council Launches Final Stamp Drive

The War Council at Westhampton College opens a final drive to raise 15000 for a pursuit plane. The fundraiser features a race between town and dormitory students with Stamp A Day badges. Miss Eliza bet Wilson of the U S Treasury will speak to students. May Day sales raised over 100. Fox Movie News filmed farmerettes at work for a future nationwide screening.

Warren Walthall Elected Leader of PDE and ODK

Warren Walthall of Richmond College was elected president of Pi Delta Epsilon and president elect of Omicron Delta Kappa at a university convocation. J B Adams of Halifax Linwood Horne of Norfolk and Alton Howell of Richmond were initiated the same night along with Walthall. Doris Hedgepeth of Roanoke Rapids named vice president elect. The new term extends into summer school.

WE Juniors Honor Graduating Class At Informal Party

The Westhampton Junior Class hosted an informal reception for the graduating class in the Faculty Sitting Room on Tuesday evening. Dor othy Monroe presented a War Bond to the Senior Class, with Dee Dee Howe presiding over a program that included Frances Kennard’s piano, Opal Ross singing Night and Day, Evermond Hardee reading, and performances by the Boresome Foursome. A Friendship Circle closed the event as both classes sang Tell Me Why with a red and white tiered cake and punch served.

Nine Students Elected To Lead Richmond College Government

Richmond College set a non political student government ballot with nine elected from fifteen names. President Max Katz led a committee selecting the slate, with independence from fraternal influence and summer duties clarified.

Rev H L Robinson to Speak Sunday on Brotherhood Barriers

Rev Henry Lee Robinson, director of religious education in state institutions, will address services in Cannon Memorial Chapel on Sunday May 9 on Barriers that Obstruct Brotherhood. A Yale Divinity School graduate, he led Yale Mass pastorships and served as president of the Virginia Conference and the Richmond Ministerial Union.
