Eleanor Wright of Hampton chosen president after close race with Martha Lee Thompson of Stuart. Charlotte Houchins wins vice president, Betty Montgomery treasurer, and other offices go to Mary Creath Kay Beale Gwen Priddy Paula Abernathy. Voters show strong turnout and seven constitutional amendments ratified.

University of Richmond Pan American Week Activities

The University of Richmond observes Pan American Week from April 11 to 15 with a Keller Hall exhibit on Latin American culture presented by Spanish classes. A Spanish film Carmen de la Triana screens April 12 in the physics lecture room at 7:30 pm, starring Imperio Argentine, Rafael Rivelles, and Manuel Luna. The grand finale Saturday features El Picaro in living tableaus at Keller Hall gym.

Kappa Alpha Rose Formal Set For April 15

The KA Alumni sponsored event will be held Saturday April 15 at 9 p.m. in the Mosque ballroom. Roses will be given to dates as in prior years. Music by Ronnie Bartley and his orchestra, led by a Juilliard graduate who previously played with Sanny Kaye and Bobby Byrne.

Two Firms to Seek Senior Applicants

Robert E. Welsch announces that two companies will interview University of campus seniors the first week after spring vacation. Montgomery Ward and Co. rep G. A. Roberts will be there Tuesday April 11 for Junior Executive Training and Retailing. Thalhimers rep John E. Damerel will interview Friday April 14 for Executive Training and Retailing.

University Players Variety Show Lights Up Campus Tonight

The University Players present a Roaring Twenties themed Variety Show tonight at 8 30 in the Playhouse. An all student cast performs skits songs ventriloquism and Gershwin tunes with a 25 cent admission.

Three UK Honor Societies Honor 24 Students and Leaders

Omicron Delta Kappa tapped Dr. Spencer D. Albright Jr and Clyde Ratcliffe Jr along with eight students. Mortar Board tapped nine Westhampton women, Pi Delta Epsilon tapped six journalism students, and Tau Kappa Alpha tapped one forensics student. Ratcliffe is Richmond City School Board member and founder of the TJ High School cadet corps. Albright holds degrees from Arkansas, Chicago and Texas, with multiple honorary memberships. The eight ODE honorees include Sease, Halloran, Dwyer, Payne and others noted for campus leadership and academic achievement.

Greek Week Trials Set at Richmond College Track

The third annual Greek Week runs April 10 to 14 at Richmond College and the School of Business Administration. Trials begin Monday at 2 45 pm on Millhiser Field with top three finishers advancing to main events Thursday.

Judge Kenyon Speaks at Richmond Phi Beta Kappa Convocation

Judge Dorothy Kenyon addressed the Richmond Phi Beta Kappa Association in Gan Non Memorial Chapel. The former New York judge spoke on human rights as a global message, tracing them from Magna Charta to the present.
