Poston and Miss Edmunds to head student governments as Independents dominate RC elections. Charles Peyton wins presidency for Independent slate while all four Independent candidates win political offices. Approximately 725 RQ students voted in the election. Poston, a Columbia native, pledged a revitalized Student Government Association with a grievance committee and an office to oversee concert planning. he also proposed a Town Council and monthly activity reports. Henry Piger, Speaker of the House, urged revitalization of House membership as part of the post election changes.

Four Run-Offs In WC Race Pick Westhampton Leaders
Carolyn Edmunds won the Westhampton College Government Association presidency in a runoff after Monday’s first ballot. Loretta Birckhead faced Edmunds, with Martha Dorman and Barbara Lee Johnson eliminated. Other runoffs chose Milne Kintner, Jay Mart, and Natcy Jorb for North Court recorder, South Court president, and South Court recorder, against Cathy Musselman Ann Spivey and Connie Heath.
