Ten Westhampton juniors were tapped into Mortar Board, with Catherine Bell honored as first honorary member since 1949. The candlelight chapel ceremony recognized scholarship leadership and service, led by Leta May Tucker and attended by parents and Mortar Board alumnae.

George Riggs, unopposed Student Party candidate, is elected business school president on March 6 joining victors Dick Thomas as All-Campus vice president and Preston Grissom as secretary. Ben Baker becomes treasurer and Bob Murphy with Leo Larne win senate seats. Gorge Poor elected to Board of Publications. Five of seven All-Campus seats claimed amid broad student support.

IFC Bars Glee Club From Greek Festival Schedule Changes
On Monday March 5 the Inter Fraternity Council approved changes to this year’s Greek Festival. The event will run a little over a week and be renamed the Greek Festival. Olympics will be eliminated per Dr Cullen Pitt’s recommendation. A Capitol Square send off convertible parade and queen selection are set for Friday April 6 with Song Fest on Monday April 9 in the Greek Theatre or chapel. No Glee Club members may sing. Chapter Visitations are scheduled for Wednesday evening. The ODK Carnival is on Friday the 18th and a Greek Festival Ball follows Saturday in Millhiser Gym with local band music arranged by Ralph Bethel. Tom Berry is festival general chairman.

Frat Initiates Six Names Top Student at Richmond

Bishop Wins R.C. Presidency In Contest With Whitehead
In one of the closest elections in Richmond College history Mac Bishop of the All-Campus Party won the Student Government presidency 300 to 287 over Joe Whitehead. The slate swept the top four offices with Briggs, Morris, Leonard taking VP, Secretary, and Treasurer respectively. Over 60 percent of the student body voted in a spirited race.

Chairman Sets Date For Speech Contest
Wednesday April 4 is set for this year's University Public Speaking Contest announced by chairman Shelby Broughton. The event, formerly University Oratorical Contest, opens to all students with two categories formal and informal. Formal orations must be serious and elevated. informal talks may cover any suitable topic and include after dinner speeches. Speeches must run 8 to 10 minutes and applications with name and topic are due to the Council Office on the fourth floor of the Student Center.
