Students vote in college election for judiciary council and proposals

Richmond College SGA President reports the Student Affairs Committee has delayed action on a visitation proposal from the RC Visitation Committee. Four senators heard Nock’s report as they debated a violation clause and a seven day visitation option among three plans for dorm visitation.

Law Dean Selection Committee Moves Forward At T Williams

The dean search at the T Williams School of Law progresses with 37 nominations received from faculty administration students and alumni after the vacancy following Dean Muse’s November death. Committee secretary C J Gray says the panel is moving along in a good style but will not disclose closeness to a recommendation.

Candidates Debate for Richmond College SGA Posts

Juniors and seniors filled meetings in two Richmond College venues while freshmen and sophomores gathered in a chapel. Sixteen of twenty candidates spoke as they attacked tuition hikes dorm rules and faculty timeliness. Presidential hopefuls Artie Sandler Richard Perris and Trip Chalkley offered platforms while Harvey Barker Bob Brizendine urged action and attendance. The noisy sessions featured applause boos and even an obscene gesture. Ten Senate hopefuls spoke and a two dollar activity fee and constitutional amendments were outlined for next Tuesday ballot.
