The reading committee at Richmond and Westhampton Colleges favors Ference Molnar's The Swan as the tentative senior class selection. It was translated by Benjamine F. Glazer and had a successful 1914 New York run before the actors strike. Boswell Davenport, an alumnus, starred then. The decision remains provisional pending final approval.

State YMCA Council Meets in Richmond Sessions Held
The State Student Council of the YMCA met January 7 and 15 at the Atlantic Life Insurance Building in Richmond. Nine members from Virginia colleges attended, including Richmond College’s Dr. S. C. Mitchell and J. W. Kincheloe. Seven program phases were planned, including Christian World Education Week and deputation teams.

Annual Mid Winter Dance Planned by Richmond German Club
The University of Richmond German Club will hold its annual mid winter dance at the Jefferson Hotel ballroom on Friday February 3 from nine to two. President Raymond Wilkinson says Happy Walker's Golden Pheasant Orchestra of Washington DC will play and the event will be the best dance yet sponsored by a Richmond College student group, marking the first club dance since new members were elected.

Declamation Contest Set for February 24 on Campus
The University of Richmond hosts the High School and Secondary School Declamation Contest on Friday afternoon February 24 in the Chapel building. Robert W. Edwards chairs arrangements and invites Virginia schools to attend. Tau Kappa Alpha sponsors the event with three prizes: a silver loving cup for first place and two cash prizes for runners up.

Summer Session to Run Nine Weeks at University of Richmond
Dean W. L. Prince announced a nine week summer session starting June 18 1928 at the University of Richmond. The change from three terms to a semester basis allows four years of work in three years plus two summers. Classes meet five days weekly with no Saturday sessions.

Dean Prince announced last Monday morning new honor roll requirements to align with a six grade system and semester setup. Students must earn at least a C in all courses and accumulate 33 quality credits. A equals three credits and scales with course hours, B two credits, C one credit.
