Stein to Address University February 6

Gertrude Stein will lecture on English Poetry at Cannon Memorial Chapel February 6 at 815 o clock. The talk, limited to 600 attendees, is hosted by Richmond College Student Government with tickets on sale next week. Students pay 50 cents. unsold tickets go to town sale February 1. Miss Stein, famed for rhythmic, repetitive prose, is praised as a brilliant speaker who appeals to students.

YWCA International Board Meet in Richmond With Tea Event

Co ordinates host a tea in the Drawing Room at the college to welcome foreign delegates for the International Federation of YWCA leaders. The four day gathering in Richmond includes guests from Italy Switzerland Turkey Belgium China and Chile. Dr Susan Lough chairs the Hampton group assisted by Mrs Garnet Ryland and Mrs Relvin Harlan with Margaret Wel led coordinating the tea.

Harlan Speaks at YMCA Religious Emphasis Week in Blacksburg

Wicker Features At Vespers Sunday

Rev. J. C. Wicker of Northside Baptist Church will speak at the 7 p.m. Vesper service in Cannon Memorial Chapel. An alumnus of the University of Richmond class of 19, he played college athletics and later entered the ministry. He has pastored across the state and returned to speak here this year for the first time.

PDE Proposes Revised Board Structure For University Publications

Pi Delta Epsilon urges a twelve member board to govern The Collegian and The Web. The plan adds three faculty members three student presidents an editor in chief and business managers from each campus plus a non voting alumnus adviser. Requires majority with two faculty concurring for major actions. A meeting of student government presidents and representatives is proposed.

Seniors to Honor President Boatwright at University Event

President and Mrs FP Boatwright will host a gathering for Richmond and Westhampton College seniors Sunday afternoon January 20 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Invitations have gone to the senior classes of both colleges.

Richmond College Debating Season Set to Open February 18

William Grenoble, president of the Forensic Council, announced Richmond College will open the 1935 debating season February 18 against the University of Pennsylvania on the munitions question. The schedule includes Ohio Wesleyan Hampden-Sydney Waynesboro Roanoke Oberlin Rutgers Gettysburg NYU Maryland and others with tentative debates vs Bridgewater Emory and Henry Fordham and Davidson.

College Revue Plans Progress at Richmond Campus

Preparations for the Richmond College Campus Revue under University Players advance. The Playhouse show on February 16 includes organized programs, dances, a chorus, and interludes between acts with a local orchestra. Tickets cost 26 cents reserved for 80 seats per group and 160 for public sale.

Freeman Banquet Toastmaster To Honor Dr Mitchell

Freeman will be toastmaster at a testimonial dinner for Dr Mitchell to be held January 28 at the John Marshall Hotel in Richmond. Speakers include Mayor Bright, Prof Wortley F. Noted Chemist Plans February Dance Series Speech

Roger Adams, newly elected ACS president, will address the Virginian sections next Monday at 8 15 P M in a Medical College of Virginia meeting. Adams, professor at University of Illinois, studied at Harvard and Berlin, served as a wartime chemical warfare major, and will speak of plans during a long career.

Old College Colors Recalled In Newest Sport Monogram

The University of Richmond revisits its colors with a shift back to the authentic crimson and navy blue for major awards while lighter red and blue uniforms continue for teams. Freshmen may see toned down crimson numbers, and critics joke about students knowing their alma mater colors.
