Sixty students or more than one eighth of the body earned Honor Roll status for the first term, the largest number since the system began. A total of 1386 A’s 140 B’s and 18 C’s marked the period with standout scores from S. W. Chappell J. E. Hicks J. M. Snelling and C. E. Smithers.
A thousand copies of the Alma Mater Song by Herbert Ricker and A B Clarke arrived from the printer last Saturday and have sold this week. Local student Herbert L Delk led the sale as the copies priced at thirty five cents to cover printing costs. No profit is planned from the first shipment. The tune was composed to embody the university spirit.
Prof. Ralph B. Harris of the department of business administration attended the American Economic Association annual meeting in Chicago December 30 and 31. He also joined several sessions of the American Institute of Accountants held there.
University of Richmond students, urged by Congressman R. Walton Moore, plan to take part in the County Council Contest to spur interest in the County Council Movement in the Old Dominion. History professor Dr. S. C. Mitchell notes many pupils have declared their intention to participate.
Philologists announce a Monday night program featuring a debate on whether The Messenger should be controlled by the student body. Affirmatives R W Carr and J W Hash oppose Sam Cook. The evening includes readings, a declamation, and a current events review.
The Spider Band has agreed to perform at a reception honoring Rev. Dr. George W. McDaniel, pastor of First Baptist Church Richmond Virginia, marking twenty years of his service. The Men's Club sponsors the event and the group begins preparations for a February minstrel show.
The article notes March 6 as a tentative date for a debate with Johns Hopkins University. This marks the third local clash with Hopkins, with past outcomes including Miller and Keith defeating Hopkins two years ago and Miller with Smith prevailing last year in Baltimore. The planned topic is Resolved That the Proposed Child Labor Amendment Should Be Made a Part of the Constitution.

The University of Richmond hosted about 500 members of the American Historical Association for lunch in Millhiser Gymnasium on December 29, one of the largest gatherings during the association’s Richmond meeting. The luncheon preceded the association’s annual business meeting as members of the historical society were entertained extensively.
The Mu Sigma Rho Literary Society will debate the desirability of three hour examinations next Monday at 7 05. T J Pease and M P German support the affirmative while J O Hart and R Sehenider uphold the negative. A reading by J Williams and a declamation by R F F Bristow mark other features.
Plans unfold for the annual banquet of the Ministerial Association led by president W. C. Atkins. The event at Murphy's Hotel aims to draw future preachers and their friends, to be held near month’s end after a recent association meeting ratified the State Ministerial Union constitution at Hampden-Sidney College.
The University of Richmond Spiders host the Medical College of Virginia in a marquee season opener at the Central Y M C A in Richmond. Richmond arrives after two practice games under Coach Dobson and aims to start a strong schedule in the 1925 cageball season.
The chemistry department will add a physical chemistry course in the second half of the school year for advanced chemistry students who have math and physics. It will run every other year with physiological chemistry and include three lectures weekly plus at least six hours of lab work, with some sessions at the Medical College of Virginia. The course carries two and a half hours credit.
Judge David C. Richardson of Hastings Court Richmond is ill at his Monument Avenue home. An LL B 74 he is one of the oldest living alumni and formerly led the Richmond College Alumni chapter.
