Forensic Council Plans Debates to Grow Publicity
The University seeks ten debates to broaden publicity after Lynchburg College suffered double defeats to the University of Richmond. Participants include G. Cary White Jessie Davis and I. H. Pruden with A Stephan Stepanion as the experienced orator. Debates will be held in Richmond during the winter session with Mercer Furman and Johns Hopkins noted in prior intercollegiate activity.

Ministerials Meet at Hampden-Sidney College
Virginia collegiate ministerial students met at Hampden-Sidney College on December 12 and 13. Delegates from Bridgewater Hampden-Sidney Lynchburg and the University of Virginia drafted a constitution to form a statewide ministerial student association and discussed plans for a future convention. W. B. Denson represented the local Ministerial Association. Cuthriell was designated but absent. A large Hampden-Sidney student and faculty presence attended.

Campus Magazine Plans Regular Monthly Editions
The Messenger will publish a regular monthly edition in the first week of each month. Six more issues are planned with new departments such as exchanges book reviews joke section and poetry and prose selections. The cover design may be changed if plans materialize.

Christmas Service at Westhampton
Westhampton held its traditional Christmas Service on Sunday night. Students and faculty joined in singing hymns and the choir offered anthems and a contralto solo by Margaret Taylor. Miss Brown read The First Christmas Tree by Henry Van Dyke, sparking a contest between Law and Business Administration department representatives. Santa Claus appeared for the faculty children under twelve at the Red Cross building corner.

Noted Historians to Speak at 39th AHA Meeting in Richmond
The American Historical Association holds its thirty ninth annual meeting in Richmond from next Saturday through December 31. About 400 delegates are expected to attend a complimentary luncheon at the Roger Millhiser Memorial Gymnasium hosted by the University of Richmond. University students and alumni will escort guests around campus by auto.

Spider Band Plans Postholiday Minstrel Show at Richmond
