WVU Seeks 22nd Straight Over Richmond in Conference Tilt

WVU fights Richmond in a Southern Conference matchup at the Arena. The Mountaineers aim to extend a 21 game winning streak against the Spiders, who sit seventh in the standings, as George King’s squad seeks a strong road showing. WCRC to Broadcast Freshman Basketball Games

WCRC will air all home freshman basketball games with WCRG covering play by play and color. The broadcasts begin Tuesday with the WME match and extend to a 24 hour campus radio schedule starting February 1 with student announcers.

Clark succeeds brother as University buildings head

Jefferson D. Clark, design engineer for DuPont in Waynesboro, joins the University of Richmond as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds on January 1. He succeeds his brother Irvin B. Clark, killed in a automobile accident in August. Clark began at the Waynesboro plant in 1994 rising from textile plant operator to foreman, power engineer, and design engineer. He is a Navy veteran and a member of the National Association of Power Engineers. He is married with three children.

Irish Poet Addresses Coeds At Virginia Lecture

The Irish poet Richard Murphy lectured at Westhampton, reading The Cleggan Disaster and a nostalgic piece about his grandmother. He described poetry as hard work that sparks memory and history, citing Yeats and T. S. Huot as influences and noting his Oxford degree and sailing life on Ave Maria.

College Shop Plans Used Textbooks and Expanded Books

College Shop will buy and sell used textbooks in the College Shop at the student center. Manager Ralph Mayo says space was created by sealing the stair well. after renovations, the shop will start purchasing texts for the second semester and expand to paperback books for students.

Movie Night Features Moon Pilot At 7 90 This Friday

Tonight the SAB Theatre screens a Richmond Richmond University of Southern Mississippi football game film at 7. The main feature follows at 7 90 with Walt Disney's Moon Pilot in color. Convocation Highlights Life Concepts through Bible and Modern Views

Dr Robison James from the University religion department spoke at yesterday’s convocation discussing two attitudes toward life. He contrasted the pessimistic view of repetitive history with the optimistic belief that God introduces new and constructive movements in human affairs, noting the Bible’s emphasis on the latter as the guiding outlook for the new year.
