Battle Plans to Stay In Race For Gubernatorial Nomination
William Battle said during a Virginia campus visit that he will not withdraw from the 1969 gubernatorial race nor make deals with current state leaders. He would talk to Gov. Mills Godwin if approached, and urged Virginians to push for a more progressive government with broader student participation and earlier planning for mental health and education funding.
