Spiders Fall 8 2 to Wake Forest in Opener of Trip
The Spiders were out hit 8 to 4 and stranded six on base as Jolliff pitched well but allowed three Wake Forest runs. Carter 3 for 4 and Liggan 2 for 4 led Richmond’s offense, while Wake Forest took a late lead in the third and fifth innings. Further trip details will appear in the next issue.

Last Thursday and Friday the Spider squad faced the Richmond Internationals posting two strong games. They proved they could stand up to the bat and hit, signaling that rival league teams must up their game to contend.

College Quartet Concert Benefits Varsity Club Fund

College Delegation Sees Billy Sunday in Baltimore
About twenty five College students traveled from West Point by boat to Baltimore to attend Billy Sunday meetings. They enjoyed a warm reception, private-home hospitality, and praise Sunday’s methods. Most returned to Richmond for college opening day with some remaining for parting remarks from the preacher.

College infirmary and pageant plans amid illness
The infirmary at the College operates at full capacity as measles and tonsillitis spread. Dr. James and staff provide care with no serious cases. Measles dominate while diphtheria and malaria appear in milder forms. The pageant preparations proceed with about 250 students signed up, costumes costing under $2 each, and sites laid out including the Boars Head Tavern for Henry IV and a Tempest scene. The show is slated for May 4 and 5. admission is one dollar.

Spider Yearbook Goes to Press on Time at College
The 1916 Spider yearbook has gone to press with editor in chief J. A. Carter aiming for June 1 distribution. Business manager K. B. Anderson secured many new ads and a leaner, self supported publication to avoid debt. Class cooperation was largely commendable despite a few delays.
