County Heart Committee Meeting Set in Orange City

The Sioux County Heart Committee will meet Monday evening September 23 at 7 30 in the basement of the Village Cafe in Orange City. Dr E B Grossmann of Orange City will speak on cardiovascular diseases and the need for a Heart Program in Sioux County. A sound movie Pump Trouble from the Iowa Heart Association Film Library will be shown. Refreshments will be served. Public invited.

Moody Farm Field Day on September 25 Near Rock Rapids

The Moody Experimental Farm field day will be held Wednesday September 25 nine miles south of Rock Rapids and one mile north of the Doon corner on Highway 75. The Northwest Iowa Experimental Association meeting accompanies the event. The program begins at 11 with Francis Kutish discussing the Overall Grain Situation, followed by afternoon tours to about five experiments and on site coffee and sandwiches.

Dethmers Implement Lead In Tuesday Bowling Standings

In Commercial League action Tuesday evening Boyden Repair edged Dethmers Implement 12 Dethmers also posted high series Rusty Diekevers 560 and Ed Diekevers 205 led the Diekevers clan. Tigers beat Dickevers Bros 3 0 and DeKalb topped Smit and Son Dethmers over Northside was a four point win. The Tigers and Smit and Son postponed their game before standings update.

Women's League Thursday Evening Scores and Honors

In the Thursday evening Women’s League, Bank 11 beat Smit and Son 11 to 4, Paul’s Store 11 defeated Co op Produce, Vanden Brink 8 topped Dethmers Implement 4, and Stand ard 10 won against Co op Lumber 6. Lucille Dickev ers led with a 169 game and 410 high series, followed by Bertha Moret and Freda Roggen with 158 games and Norma Lagoo with 404 series.

Western League Friday Evening Bowling Results

Co op Oil defeated Co op Elevator 14 to 10 and Co op Propane beat Rensink Insurance. Pioneer Seed toppled the Legion. McCurdy's Seed beat Steckley's Seed. High games went to Norm Moret 196 and Vernon Kiel 193. Kiel also led with 515 in series. Team Propane posted 2046 in team high series, while Co op Oil led with 754 in team high game.

World Home Bible League Rally Set For Sept 26

Brig Gen Medina Estrada of Mexico City will headline the World Home Bible League rally at the Sioux Center school auditorium at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday September 26. Estrada, a former Mexican army officer, leads Bible distribution in Mexico and aims to place a Bible in every Mexican home. The address will be interpreted into English by Rev Ray Moerlock.

Belles Meet At Adrian Diekevers Home

The Capel Belles held their annual business meeting in September at the home of Adrian Diekevers with twelve members present. Officers elected were President Linda Bomgaars Vice-President Sue Green Secretary Darlene Langstraat Treasurer Karen Van Der Zwaag Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Ruth De Jong Historian-Reporter Lolita Van Der Vliet. Kosters Named County Legion Commander in Orange City

Wm. G. Kosters of Orange City was named County Commander of the American Legion at the county meeting. Mrs. Urban Dykstra was elected County President of the Legion Auxiliary. Art De Jong, Myron Van Peyrsem, Marion Vander Laan, Abe Schiebout, Floyd Koster, and Harvey Bernard were elected to senior posts. The group plans next year's Junior Legion baseball activities with Orange City as tournament site chaired by Paul Muyskens.

The 18th annual Laymen's Rally meets in Rock Rapids on September 29 with Pastor A L Armstrong as speaker and Dr H W Siefkes discussing Lutheran World Federation highlights. Northwest Luther League Federation Fall Rally is set for Alvord on October 6 with 1:30 to 2:00 registration and a 1.25 dollar fee.

The Reformed Church fall conference will be at the First Reformed Church in Boyden on Friday September 27. Miss Kammlade Attends Parasitology Seminar in Iowa City

Miss Marilynn Kammlade of Sioux City spent the weekend with her parents E. C. Kammlade. She left Tuesday to attend a three day parasitology seminar sponsored by the Iowa Society of Medical Technologists.
