Mr Bernard Klein of Northwood and Mr and Mrs Bernard Peters of Boyden returned home from Ellington Field Texas where Vincent Peters known as Bud Peters received his silver wings in a brief 9 am ceremony last Saturday He was also welcomed into the Caterpillar Club after a recent parachute escape and was later transferred to Mather Field California near Sacramento A telegram arrived announcing the transfer while the Peters were home after four days with Bud.

Returns From Camp In Ireland Sergeant Ed VanZanten Back
Sergeant Ed VanZanten son of Dr and Mrs Will VanZanten returns to the United States after serving in Ireland. He is to receive an honorable medical discharge due to high blood pressure and hearing loss, after being aboard the Naval Transport Wakefield previously the liner Manhattan. The Wakefield burned Sept 8 with 1900 crew saved. the fire origin remains undetermined and warships aided the convoy to port for repairs.
